    Learning Database Management

Thanks so much for the insight @Sundown Dreamer, that's really appreciated! I didn't realise MS did Express as a free+light version of Sql Server, that's cool. But my home computer is a Mac. Instead of trying to run MS-only software, I've opted for SQL Pro for now. At the moment I'm just...

    Learning Database Management

How do you learn database management? I see plenty of IT savvy peeps on Yaktribe and wondered if you kind people would offer any thoughts. What are the traditional routes to Database Management. And, are there any un-traditional ones? I worked in the NHS as an analyst and used SQL Server...

    Halfling Treemen models

Thanks all. @Ben_S thats very true about scale. Just saw a pic of 5th edition Pro elves vs BB16 elves and it’s like a halflings vs an elf, it’s not even close. Cheers @DArquebus for the detailed info. I hadn’t even thought about the prone markers. I know I would certainly appreciate something a...

    Halfling Treemen models

Cheers @Ben_S. Weirdly, I hadn’t even thought about how the dryads sized up to opposing teams. Just thought ‘well, they are twice the size of the halflings, so that should work’. But then I guess that’s every model, haha! That’s made me think to go with the treemen and just use prone markers :)...

    Halfling Treemen models

Hey Blood Bowl fans, I've just seen the new Halfling models for BB; New BB 'flings They look ace, and are probably my favourite sculpts of the BB16 teams so far. I would love to grab a box when they arrive, but it reminded me I still have a team of the old Halfings waiting to be painted. I'm...

Feeding the Tribe (Gardening thread - Off Topic)

Cheers again Tiny. I have a new enthusiasm for the garden, now that I don’t need to pretend I’m digging my way to China...

Feeding the Tribe (Gardening thread - Off Topic)

Oh, one more thing with the raised beds - are they also good for climbing stuff like tomatoes and peas? I had marked out an area next to a wall to get these veggies growing up. Not sure it’s technically no dig but we made a strawberry ladder; Strawberries by AndeeT posted Apr 24, 2019 at 7:25 PM

Feeding the Tribe (Gardening thread - Off Topic)

Cheers for the tips @=][=SW1=][= and @Tiny I did exactly as you described with the sods. What you see on the far side is just a few cut-offs that wouldn't fit in the trenches. I'll have a go with the newspapers/beds after I recover from all this digging :)

Feeding the Tribe (Gardening thread - Off Topic)

Sweet, cheers guys. I have two other area in the garden so I can put in some raised beds there. Is it better with more, smaller beds, or a larger, single one?

Feeding the Tribe (Gardening thread - Off Topic)

Any tips on preparing soil for growing veg? Just moved into a new house with a sizeable (for London) garden. Was looking to turn half of it into veggie patches. I found some old gardening books from the 70’s and they all talked about ‘double digging’ AKA ‘bastard trenching’. I did a small strip...

    Necromunda Cardyfreak's Necromunda plog

Its so cool to watch you paint through the N17 mini's after following your plog through all of the classic metal mini's. It has even sold me a little more on N17 :-). Keep up the great work.

    Origins of Mordheim mechanics

Cheers Aulenback. I hadn’t thought about the role play stuff. Turns out I have one of the WHF role play books in my parents place. Bought it in a charity shop probably around the time Mordheim was coming out, incidentally. Never played it but enjoyed looking at all the character descriptions as...

    When did you fall?

All the guys talking about the Lego pirates and medieval fortress - Wow! That takes me back. The fortress had a little dungeon in it. I remember because I tried locking my hamster in there and it pissed in there. That fortress never quite smelled right after that! Still, I had that coming... I...

    Kill Teams 2018

I will pick up the KT18 rules if I can find a group to play. I got the GSC neophytes for SW:A and then repurposed for N17, which can now be repurposed for KT18. One thing which is nice is GW now put a statement of committing long-term support in the Q+A of KT18. At least now we know that if...
