I have a 10-man squad of Iron Warriors Breachers and everything was going well. I painted the stripes, the trim, then brushed Iron Warriors -> Leadbelcher -> Strormhost Silver over everything is prep for my favourite wash: Basilicanum Grey Contrast.
Normally this makes for a nice armour base on...
Sooo... I finally broke down and bought an airbrush, which means I can prime indoors, which means... I've finally painted my first mini! There's still some work to be done, with weathering, and a few details like eyes, decals, etc, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome so far!
When blended in with an entire squad, I think they add some nice flavour!
You can also see me using MKIII+MKIV here together.
In short (albeit a little late for that now...) I think I'm on the right track! I'm going to keep assembling standard tact squads and then arming them after the...
I have slowly been assembling models and have run into an issue... when I was putting together Necromunda gangs, there was a lot of opportunity for customizing each member. When you only have to deal with a handful or two of models, putting that extra bit of effort in with each one didn't feel...
I hadn't thought about it as praise-the-sun until you mentioned... and now I can't unsee it, haha.
Coming from Titanicus, I sorta forgot how limited standard GW figures can be when it comes to posing. I also think I mislead myself a few years ago when kitbashing Escher/Sororitas together as...
1 MKIII Tactical Squad assembled...
I plan on assembling at least 1 Tact Squad of each mark available (III, IV, and VI) and then will decide on loadouts and numbers for my legion. I'm also waiting on some 3rd-party heads and such that I think will add the custom elements I want to my squad...
I sat down this morning and started writing out the models I'd need to actually finish some of my armies... I started with Custodes and, thankfully, outside of the out-of-stock dreads, I'm running a surplus (thanks to a Combat Box):
I'll likely start assembling these this month. I have some...
Ok, quick update sans photos...
...I've decided against the magnetizing infantry arms. To get the poses I want, and to make things more stable for eventual painting, I think glue is just a better choice. Magnets worked great for Titanicus, on all sizes of model, but for Hersey, I'm going to...
One thing I learned building so many Titanicus models was magnets are a v powerful tool...
This is my first time trying to magnetize something as small as a terminator but I have high hopes!
Oh boy... it's been a bit hasn't it?
Sooo... here's an update! I sold all my Necromunda, Adeptus Titanicus, and Blood Bowl, in that order (BB being just this week). In the long run, I never got to play a single game of either but kitbashing and learning how to model really helped me through the...
Don't talk to me or my son again
There's a lot of leftovers in the Redmptionists box so I thought I'd take a model from the Age of Sigmar Flagellants and try adding a new upper-torso...
Unfortunately I may have hacked a little too much away, thus diminishing his height... oops.
Trying to decide how to build out a modular board; max size is 3x5:
Should I build 1 tile at a time, or earmark X number of tiles for certain sections?
Here's a sample of terrain:
