I've found the Yak Comp to be a huge driver for trying out new things, painting models that likely would have stayed unpainted, and otherwise pushing my boundaries. Even if the theme doesn't motivate you, just start something; you'll be surprised.

Got there in the end! A lot of new materials and techniques tried out for this one, and a few tiny touch-ups may be needed. Very happy with how it turned out, though it is a little fragile at the moment. And the submission photo for Comp 61:

Unbelievable. I feel really sorry for kids that they have to grow up navigating the AI cesspool, and it's only going to get worse.

My experience with liquitex basics (although not their burnt umber) is that they're not fully opaque and they are a bit buttery, but I'd imagine that isn't a problem for basing and terrain etc.

@Stoof when you've got a chance could you please relabel mine from "samurai" to "Sensei." Sensei is a very specific bit of 40k lore. Cheers.
