Good point, she would make an awesome leader! Right now they are all kinda samey. Not necessarily bad, but the leader could be more... just more.
For the hats I used contact lens containers. The little disposable ones, and just cut out a slice of the rounded part.
Well, if there's one thing we know it is that anything you just finished painting will roll badly! Right? Anyway, my game just got postponed 'til next week. But hey, that might be my saving grace then! ;)
And thanks, @Unslain. There is such a mix of arms there I can hardly remember what they...
I actually thought the one in the back on the right looked very tricorn-ish, because of those markings!
I am looking to add to them, preferably juves at first, but haven't got any suitable legs atm. Strictly NCE, though. No agents, sorry.
Thanks, guys! I know Wyches as Escher are pretty standard fare, at least before Newcromunda, but I am very happy with this style setting them a bit apart.
And good name, @SuboptimusPrime! I am tempted to steal it... But for the moment they are called Sisters of Takeko, after Nakano Takeko. :giggle:
As mentioned I have a game (or 5) tomorrow, and I wanted to get the Escher gang a little more battleready. They're still work in progress, but here is where we are now.
They are a little rough, but I figure they'll look ok on the table. A lot of the detail still needs paint/washes/highlights...
All the edges look kind of rounded, like the details sort of blend into the model. I don't own any Frostgrave models, but they looked to have more crisp details from what I could tell. How is the "hands on" on that aspect, @Ben_S?
Understandable, but maybe the SW: A crowd would've been all over it, and anyone thirsting for new skirmish battles like Necromunda would at least have had a look. As it is, I pretty much opted out before release when I heard of the changes they'd made to a game I love. And am very glad I did...
The Captain actually fixed the vampire thingy. It makes a lovely vampire and a lovely varghulf or vargheist!
After painting up 15 wolves, I finally realised that I could model them a bit with clippers and greenstuff. But it was about the time fantasy died (for me), so never finished them. Now they are being re purposed as war hounds for Frostgrave!
I don't know if I missed a picture in this thread, but finally got a look at the new Dire Wolves. Have to admit, they're pretty darned cool! If not for the fact that I already have 20+ wolves from the old Goblin Wolf Riders (didn't like the old dire wolves), I might be tempted.
I see your point. Because for the comp I'd like something that doesn't look exactly like a bunch of tokens stuffed in a ruin. Which it is... But I guess tokens blending in would be problematic in game. Something to think about.
I don't have anything resembling glitter glue... I actually just thought I could take a thin plastic rod and slice a pile of coins from it? They won't be massive mounds of gold, just scattered under weapons/armor/books mostly.
An image of treasure hunters looting a hoard while huge spiders encroached upon them popped into my head. I need both treasure tokens, treasure hunters and ice spiders to hopefully soon try my hand at Frostgrave, so why not try and make it fit together for yakcomp!? :giggle:
I might substitute...
I didn't intend to enter this time around, but I think I'm going to take a page out of @Ben_S' book and do some treasure tokens for Frostgrave. Because I want some but don't have any. Nothing too fancy, but might as well!
I, @MedMos, will enter yakcomp #38 with my entry "Looks safe enough..."...
