N18 Twin guns blazing and Mounted rule.

True, dat! Probably one of the more realistic rules in the Ash Waste. But, it does make bikes more vulnerable. Making them even more vulnerable would make me sad. Happy trails! Always wear your helmet.

N18 Twin guns blazing and Mounted rule.

All true. I don't think Rolling Road accomplishes what it intends, so didn't consider it. But, yes, bikes be better for it. It's the fall down, go BOOM! that makes bikes less defensive when shot. I want to like them. I wouldn't want to see them further restricted. Thoughtful post!

N18 Twin guns blazing and Mounted rule.

For a little extra movement, and much worse defense, bikes and mounts don't have a lot going for them. The should have gotten an extra toughness. They did not. Further restrictions are just cruel. Imagine 40K bikes have an anti-grav thingie to keep them upright, until hit. BTW, bikes are...

    N18 Insanity and XP

That's the thing. Treat the insane fighter like an enemy model. BUT, that does NOT make the insane fighter's gang enemy fighters. They are still friendly fighters. Plus, the Death Maiden will be burdened with a lifetime of regret for her insane actions. We're talking years of therapy, here.

    N18 Insanity and XP

No. The DM don't get XP for taking OOA her own fighters. C'mon! This rewards the opponent for you using their DM to attack their fighter. And is a disincentive for you to do it. You think your fighter should get XP for a grenade that deviates and hits and takes OOA your own fighters...

    N18 Numerous Ash wastes questions

"Road" as in "Rolling Road" means the scenario condition. NOT a terrain road (or not). With the rolling road scenario condition, the entire board "rolls" (or moves) in one direction. Meant to simulate the vehicles travelling in a direction, like a Mad Max chase. Except they decided to move...

    N18 Numerous Ash wastes questions

    1) Yes to rolling road, one direction. 2) Guess there is no damage if the fall is less than 3? 3) Unless specifically prevented from moving, a blazing fighter runs no matter what. It's why we play the game! 4) Never seen a Cargo vehicle damaged or impeded. The most cost effective vehicle...

N18 Pit Slave Gang Rules for Necromunda Underhive (2018)

Pit Slaves were my son's favorite gang back in the day. He still plays, will like this. IIRC, I used a Servitor with a Heavy Bolter for long range firepower. Don't know if that was in the rules, or home brewed. Thanks!

    N18 Fair Cost

Hand flamers are a bit too cheap. Or, coulda/shoulda had a smaller template like the old days. Cawdor get cheap flamers, which is easily abused. I've never paid for a Flamer or Heavy Flamer (except on a vehicle.). So, yeah, they cost too much.

Back in the day, Overwatch was a buzz kill. This way is less OP.

    N18 Necromunda Armageddon

Shadow War was great! But, a throwback to 40K-V2/Original Necromunda rules. Methinks because Necro N17 was just about to drop. To use modern Necromunda rules and gangs is reasonable. There were Orks on Necromunda at one time (a crashed space hulk?). Or, the board game Invasion of...

    N18 Overwatch

"they can interrupt a visible enemy fighter’s action as soon as it is declared but before it is carried out. 1) Visible 2) As soon as declared 3) Before carried out We've always interpreted that to mean the shot has to occur before the target actually does anything, (reload, cast a spell...

    N18 Redemptionist-heavy Cawdor

A chainaxe and autorun model is one that doesn't shoot too good, or fight too good. Which is just fine for Gangers. NOT a Leader. He needs to do more, and survive longer. Dual chainaxes has a certain je ne sais quoi! But, the Eviscerator is both their thing, and A THING. Given a choice...

N18 New player - looking for advice on "simple" gangs

More important than the gang is streamlining the rules. You don't change the game much by not incorporating Stray Shots, or falling, or even Pinning. You don't even have to have any armor on anyone, so to save on die rolls. Keep it fast and furious. What gang? Goliaths. Macho Men. We...

    N18 Help with Delaque list?

This is NOT advice. It's food for thought. A Leader is good at motivating the troops (can activate 2 others). So, not necessarily at his best as a loner. Additionally, Infiltrating is both lonely and dangerous. I personally get too scared to infiltrate with my Leader, unless you use...

    N18 Redemptionist-heavy Cawdor

Kinda skimmed though the posts. Did anyone say, "Fire good!" Even better if you can disguise it with an Eviscerator. "Oh, it has a flamer, I didn't even notice." Remember, you are burning them for their own good! It's a thankless job.

N18 Are Escher Cutters as scary as they seem?

About them Maulers. Three games with four of them. Honestly, they can take it, but only OK at dishing it out. I suppose most vehicle are like that. Four grenade launchers is good, not great. Four power rams is good, depending if you can get close. And, vehicles generally take a fair amount...
