Some friends and I recently started playing some Necromunda. After a few games we’re still working on remembering the rules but the games seem to last 2-3 hours. I was under the impression that games of Necromunda are brutal and the weapons really pack a punch compared to 40K.
It seems like no...
I love to hear other people’s gang lore.
For my Goliath gang I’ve been playing with the idea of making them Imperial Fist poseurs. A ganger was once on a bodyguard gig in the upper hive when he caught a glimpse of a Space Marine. He spreads the tale and begins to emulate their look. Why...
based on the concept art for Kislev I’m not overly thrilled with the direction. I had high hopes of a new version of Warmaster. I’d be more inclined to play if I could paint a massive looking army in a smaller scale.
I’ve recently been eyeing Van Saar. I wasn’t really into their design but digging into their lore is making me change my mind. It still doesn’t make a lot of sense as to why they fight scum when they have such advanced weaponry. Seems like they be Uphive.
Really it’s just an excuse to use my...
I always wonder why people chose the armies/teams/gangs that they do.
So tell me; why did you chose your gang?
Was it the lore, the aesthetics?
For me my first gang was Palanites (not counting Scavvies from ages ago). Main reason was they came in Dark Uprising. The idea of attempting order in...
If you haven’t already I would recommend Status: Deadzone. It’s a collection of short stories. Some aren’t the best but a lot of them play with narrative styles that you don’t usually see in Warhammer fiction.
Junktion was another I quite enjoyed which was more poignant than I initially expected.
Not a bad idea. I’m reading Status:Deadzone and quickly realized my wife has no interest in hearing me go on and on about the stories.
She pretends so I’ll giver her credit for that.
This is great. I’m working on getting my 8 year old into it as well.
I’m currently making gang card templates and a quick reference sheet that’s a little more Kidd friendly. i’m thinking of calling it “Necromunda: Juve Edition”
Johnny Jewel has a nice atmospheric retro-synth feel.
And when the action really gets going there’s always Metal Machine Music which also doubles as sonic warfare.
Good gravy I love that episode. Space Mutiny has a lot in common with Necromunda now that I think about it. Over the top characters, dingy factory basements, and railing kills galore.
Thanks everyone for the advice. happy to say we’re off to a roaring start. Today my son started naming his gangers The Skull Crushers.
With names like Axe Face, Snake Bite, Gut Puncher, and The Impaler; how can a boy and his old man not have a wholesome game night?
Hey all.
Has anyone had any experience playing Necromunda with younger kids? My 8 year old son loves the aesthetics (what boy wouldn’t love corpse grinders?) but as far as really jumping into some serious rules crunch I think it will overwhelm him immediately.
What do you think could work for...
