N18 1 off game: HOF Starting gang

Probably in one off games I would go for the 2 zealots if its a game where you can take the full gang, if its one that limits numbers then the Deacon is more punchy if you can only take 6 of your 10 fighters. Have you used the gang creator to make a roster yet, if so link it as it makes it easier to give pointers :)

Ps for both gangs I would suggest giving the spec a long rifle if you do branch out of zm or maybe make them a redemptionists brother with shotgun and exterminator for a little more ranged capability.

Specialists dont get skills at creation, you have to buy them with XP, so from the getgo the specialist would still be worse than the zealot.
The deacon at least gets the extra "Fanatical Fervor" skill.
That's how we have been playing it though, and my buddy isn't changing his mind, kinda think it would be better without as I feel Cawdor just really got screwed by Skills while other gangs get some very good ones to pick from from the start.

So the question is, is a Deacon with Berzerker better than 2 Zealots without? as those are the big differences in my lists.

2 zealots for if you want more fire, deacon if you want a hunter killer missile also have you thought which path you will take for the gang as it may help with your model selection?

If going doomed then you want as many cheap easily lost bodies as you an get in that case I would go 2 zealots, whilst if going redeemer then I would go for deacon. I am opting for redeemer path with my https://yaktribe.games/underhive/gang/the_lantern_bearers.201280/
I'm going to use the bone pickers as a faith choir while the 3 other groups do the wet work with lots of dice to throw at articles of faith

Ps have you made a gang roster on here yet?

Gotcha!! Missed that sorry man.

I would personally go with your list with 2 zealots, 3 bonepickers as shields, 2 zealots to shred everything in sight.

My only criticism of that list is that a ling rifle would really offer support especially if you're up against a shooty gang. Otherwise looks good.

I have a love/hate relationship with how this website works, I keep having to re-do the whole gang because I click somewhere wrong and then don't know if the credits are still correct.
I really wish there was just a sandbox mode instead of this campaign mode for creating gangs. That's why I just type it out here.

The loads of bodies is kinda hard at 1000 credits as I also want to have a good amount of Blunderbusses, I prefer to have an extra blunderbuss over a long rifle as it just doesn't really do all that much while the blunderbusses instill fear of the blaze.

I kinda like both gangs atm, but already converted a Deacon while still waiting on the models I ordered to make the zealots with (I have a heavily converted gang based on the Corvus Cabal models and and am using the BSF Cultist for the Deacon as I don't like the redeemer models).

Kind of leaning towards Path of the Redeemer atm, but as a mainly Cawdor gang not sure if that's fluffy enough.

Make a copy of your gang and use that to play about with, can just go back and rewrite if it gets a bit confusing.
But that's the issue, I keep loosing track of credits and then have to re-do the whole gang to find out if it is correct or not. I did save my 2 gangs now so should be able to try some things.

alright, some good news. I think I convinced my buddy to do a 1250credit game which I think will balance my Cawdor a bit more. So excited I actually primed my models (these days I am very busy so can hardly find any actual hobby/painting time).

Will make some changes to my list to have more variety.

Yet again only points would be the spec having a longer range weapon pref long rifle and have you though about giving the leader a great sword as an option? Those two changes would give enough spare creds for an extra bone picker if you wanted another body?

I like the idea of the Long rifle, but think he's too expensive and am not sure what I would need to give up in order to get him. Only thing I can think of is the Zealot but I think it will be a good way to split up the potential CC threat.

yes but he'll be BS4+ and getting rid of a template is not worth it, might try to get rid of something else to add him but I need those 4 templates.

I don't really count the eviscerators as if they can fire they should be in charging range I guess, maybe not though. Might be possible to blast first and charge the next round, but my guess is if they blast first they will get either shot to bits or charged themselves.

Depends if can get both flame templates off In tandem, most should be down, ooa or on fire at least, especially when combined with the 2+blaze tactic card or even one to set the cat amongst pigeons before the 2nd runs in for slice and dice.

We don't play with the tactics cards so that won't do much good. It's great that they will be automatically pinned though.
