ORB A Growing Populace (New Minis WIP)

Yes the Delaque arm pairs go great with figures that have zero muscle tone. I started my D. Gang because I couldn’t use the weapon upgrade sprues otherwise

I've been in an odd kind of hobby slump lately... I really want to work on Gaslands, Pit Slaves and giant terrain pieces, but because I can't decide which to do, I'm doing absolutely nothing hobby related. I need to pick something and get stuck in.

I know that feeling. I’ve got a few projects I’d like to move on with but it’s almost the agony of choice!!

Since the Delaque bits didn’t work out, I did a slight rethink and gave him a grenade launcher from the set. I’m not sure where the head came from, but it had some technological doodads. The belt pack and grenades are from the Delaque set, so they’re still in there. The holster is from Mad Robot. I dunno if I’m done building him. He’s kinda…. Non-descript. Which could be ok as a merc? But then again, does he want to be a choomba?

Yep, looks like an old scout head.

I made a Defence Force Deserter (which was from some ORB era supplement) a long long time ago and finally painted him up last year!! 🤣

This guy reminds me of him - mostly because they’re both based on Cadian bodies.

Dunno what your ultimate plan is for this dude but he looks fine!

Yeah, the problem is I’m not sure what I wanted to do with him. I was hoping he’d get me out of my hobby slump…. I do think he needs some sort of close combat weapon…

I know I’ve said before I hate working with green stuff, so I don’t know why I decided to try sculpting a mini…. Because even after sitting for well over a month, the green stuff is still a bit soft. And tacky. Too much blue? Too much yellow? What the heck. Anyway, I did some more and got his eyes in place. I’m loosely basing him off the Horrors of Tzneetch. Since my chaos dwarves are dedicated to Tzneetch after all.

Blue is the hardener, so if you wanted it softer you’d use more yellow, harder more blue.

If your putty isn’t curing well then it could be a poor mix (green stuff/kneadatite is usually easy to see if it’s mixed as it turns, well, green) or it could be that the putty is quite old and degraded.

Does the yellow and blue look vibrant and bright, like a 90s paintjob, or does it look dull and the blue may have developed a slight brown tinge - like a modern paintjob?

If the latter it’s old or has been exposed to too much light/heat and the hardener may not be doing its job well.

It probably will cure fully but might take longer.

How soft are we talking? Because it doesn't go completely rock hard; there's always a bit of give to it even when it's fully cured. Think old, chewed gum.

Shouldn't be tacky though.
