ORB A Growing Populace (New Minis WIP)

So I’ve continued working on my Cypher Lords. The big box that I picked up had enough minis for two warbands in it, but I decided to make one big one (because I don’t play). Having two allowed for all the variants, and then I did head swaps for the duplicates to make them all different. To make them stand out a bit more, I decided to paint their top knots in alternating colors as well. I’ll go back to the finished wizard-type and add the Warlock Purple to the triple top knot to join them all together. The WIPs are all at the same place (painting wise), so now I just have to pick out any unique details and fix all the over paints from those darn straps and stuff. Oh, and the bases.

I guess it’s the way you prime them but those bases look rather stone like as they are.

Either that or theres a lot of pigeons and chewing gum in the Hive.

they were primed back when I was trying zenithal priming. The white went all spluttery. I do like how it looked when I painted the test models bases, so I‘m going to go with it. A happy accident!

Heat and humidity has been ridiculous, but we’re in a heat wave so I broke down and installed the AC unit that I didn’t want to put in thanks to owing so much to the electric company…. But it did allow me to finish up four more Cypher Lords and get some paint on the mercenary with grenade launcher I threw together awhile back.

If I ever get more models with straps for bracers and grieves, I’m painting those things like armor. Trying to fix the over-paints on the flesh causes over-paints on the straps. So I need to fix that, and get another over-paint on the skin, and repeat ad nauseum…
