ORB A Growing Populace (New Minis WIP)

That would be awesome! But I think they’re more interested in someone who does layers and washes for that sort of thing. They did hook me up with a couple extra minis on my first order, which was really nice.

Somehow I accidentally seem to have obtained a box of Sisters Repentia….

So the Sister will be joining my Inquisition Warbands. And four of the sisters repentia got some spare Escher bits to become juvies for Sugar Rush, my N17 Escher gang.

I hate it when you accidentally receive a box of model kits. Especially if you accidentally receive it from yourself. So annoying. 🤔

Anyway…

Those less armoured ones look absolutely perfect for Escher Juves!

Saying that by I do like the Sisters models, old and new!!

So I added a few leftover Escher bits and some Delaque bits to the juvies to add some gear and cover up some places where I left off repentia parts. These are all repentia bodies and heads with Escher arms because I don’t want everyone carrying a 2-h chain sword. I used only heads I thought needed the least work, but they weren’t all meant for the bodies they ended up on. I think they all kinda work. Not perfect, but they’ll get the job done. The Sister of Battle I didn’t alter at all. They all have two coats of brush-on primer in these pics.

I can see why you were worried about the brush on primer now! That does look a little streaky, as if it’s not properly mixed up. 🤔

I wonder if it’s gone bad? That can happen when it sorta clumps up and then won’t mix back into the carrier fluid, though it’d have to be a very old bottle for that to happen.

The bottle is new to me. I’ve only had it a few months. I shook the heck out of it, let it sit, then shook it again. It’s Vallejo too.

It really looks like it’s not mixed up well enough. I’d advise unscrewing the lid, getting a wooden stirrer in there and having a good mush around. You’d be surprised at how much sediment settles in these things.

Then get a stainless ball bearing or glass marble agitator in and go mad with the shaking again.

If the sediment has solidified at the bottom then you could be shaking for weeks and get no-where unless you physically mix it back up again as the liquid doesn’t have power on its own to break it up.

In terms of age, well it depends on how long it’s sat in the shop! Found that issue with spray cans too. As long as it has the new Vallejo logo on then it’s not going to be ancient.

I’ll ping @Stoof in for his opinion.

As @MusingWarboss says I'd get the top out and get a cocktail stick or similar in there to make sure it's not all congealed at the bottom. You should be able to save it - I've brought back some ancient paints.

It does look like it's mainly medium being painted on and not much pigment. I have used Vallejo white paint on primer and it didn't look like that.

Incidentally Revell Matt White acrylic no. 36105 is an excellent white primer (it's not actually primer but it's tough, covers brilliantly and takes colour well) - I'm using that at the moment since I can buy it from Hobbycraft.

Revell Matt Tar Black 36106 is a fantastic black primer too.

They're brush on model paints that happen to be good as primers.

They come in cube pots where the top twists off at an angle and becomes a little palette. Nifty design.

Mini update on the ladies. As you may have noticed in the pics, i missed filing off some of the power armor ports in their legs and one of the larger punishment piercings. I went back and filed those off (it's really easy) and reprimed them. Time for some paint.
