Greetings, fellow scum of the Underhive!

I finally did it. I've just played my first game of Necromunda, a mere 30 years after receiving the box as a gift from my girlfriend back in 1995. The best part? That same wonderful woman is now my wife and the mother of the two new gangers who joined me!

Here's the miracle: the original box itself was lost to the depths of the underhive long ago, but I kept all the contents safe, stored away in my Warhammer 40k 2nd Edition box. It survived decades just waiting for this moment.

She gave me the dream then, and now she's given me the team to share it with.

My two sons have fully embraced the hobby:

· My eldest (19), the same age I was when I got the box, chose the brute force of the Goliaths.
· His brother (15) went for the rugged industrial look of the Orlocks.

I am beyond happy to finally open this treasure and to share this passion with the next generation. It was worth every year of the wait.

Has anyone else had a multi-generational hive war? I'd love to hear your stories!

Here's to many more games in the sump!

Very cool.

I can remember the giddy feeling looking through the white dwarf issues when necromunda was first released and can imagine you and your sons feeling somethig similar .

I’ve done the same sort of thing with hero quest with my kids - reliving a bit of my youth (albeit with a fully painted set, very much not like my youth).

Have fun!

Ahhh, Hero Quest! What memories!! It was my first game from Games Workshop, along with Space Crusade! I actually got back into the hobby trying to recreate my old Space Crusade (I have a thread about it somewhere), but in the end, it was much quicker to get Necromunda to the table, hahaha!

We've just finished the first scenario of the campaign. It took us a good few hours as we had to check the rulebook every five minutes! I definitely have a couple of questions I'll need to ask the hive mind later.

But most importantly, my sons absolutely loved it. I have the feeling this was the first of many!

I've played a few simple games with my now 9yo. He was 7 when we started, so we played with very simple rules. He's since discovered video games, but the hope is that the seed is planted and we'll play full games when he gets a little older

So awesome. A great 'bringing it full circle' story. I'm sure you three are having a blast chasing each other through the ruins of the Underhive!

So good to see an old set in pristine condition 😎😎
Seriously try to savour that fantastic price of gaming history you have. If only I could tell 10 year old me to not ruin the card terrain among other mistakes that were made 🙈

My daughter @Siren's knife is now of an age where she can more than hold her own in a game of necromunda, as many tribemeet attendees can now attest 😀
It’s great to see and I get a lot of joy from playing with her. She’s just so stubborn that she will never voluntarily bottle lol
The fact you’ve got two to play with means you can do campaigns, get your Mrs in on it as well 😀
