Necromunda Alternative Necromunda Miniature Sources (image heavy)

IOL does some amazing miniatures. I really like the riff on Ratskins with the Millisaur skin scout; I wish they'd make a full gang in that style.

OK

Is there some way to decide if a model is going for the hero scale or true scale?

Warlord Indian models have teeny, tiny hands/heads, which just look wrong next to the more heroic models.

Imitation of Life models bought after Thanksgiving. Ratling civilians, mutants, ratskin and the croc model.

Hey!! I got that Croc for Christmas too!!

Not assembled yet though.

Haven't seen that specific croc before, looks good.
I was talking about them in this very thread not so long back - which I think is how I ended up with one for Christmas!! 😂

Three body options on the croc and two weapons on the handler.

In more relevant to the thread news:
Anyone seen or brought any Hammerline models??

They seem to have quite the range of 40k compatible things but also some cool stuff that might work for Necromunda too - such as this Lamborghini tank in the Ash Wastes:

Recently bought several Across the Realms models that should work for Necromunda but none of the vehicles (yet...). Lambo tank looks promising.

I’m thinking of treating my Escher… the ones I haven’t painted yet. 🤣

It’d be my apologies to the miniature gods for not getting round to them… yet.

While googling I found what I assume to be an American recaster, offering a few (no longer distributed) forge world models

Does anybody have experience with the quality off recasted models and does anybody know any recasters in Europe?

I don't have personal experience (so far as I know) but recasters will be variable. It's not like there's any quality control between them!

Depends on your recaster- I've known a few that you'll probably get 50-70% useful sculpts out of an order and the rest will be so badly cast that they'll just be terrain/conversion fodder. Then there are others that take the FW sculpts and re-work them so that they are nice and clean, looking better than originals. It really depends. Generally, the lower the price the worse the quality, but it is always dependent on the caster themselves.

This one has a professional site and prizes are bellow gw's at 12$ for FW upgrade head kits for munda
(they also have bunches of oldhammer)

I'd be very surprised if it is actually a recaster from the US- they would be in violation of IP laws and probably shut down fairly quickly. Most likely it's a reseller who is buying from China/Russia/wherever and then turning around to resell the models. That's also fairly risky, as it violates federal law about importing counterfeit items for sale. Interestingly, you can legally import counterfeit items if it is for personal use, you just can't do it if you are planning on distributing them. The fun stuff you can learn...

I don't personally know of any EU recasters. I'm not sure about the EU's IP/counterfeit item laws, but I'd be surprised if they were any less stringent than the US's. Most recasters are from lax-IP enforcement countries like China and Russia- and with Russia still in it's Ukrainian war I don't know how that would effect their supply/distribution. Last time I bought something from Russia in general it took about six months to arrive and that was before the war.

I've sent you the link,

Here in Europe there are similar (if not even harsher) IP laws.
There where Russian and Ukrainian firms who recasted or er... played fast & loose with the IP laws before the war (Artel),
And who were not part of Europe's IP 'umbrella', make prosecuting expensive.

I've been following the (non-hobby) side of the Ukrainian war and all that it entails.
There is a booming sale passing through third countries like Kyrgistan, Georgia,... . Recently that list became smaller due to Biden sanctioning harsher at the end of his mandate. On account of more people being involved I assume the prizes are higher for their supplies and 3D plastics are also needed for drone construction.

So in theory they should still be able to sell recasts, but at a higher cost.

PS: There's even an Ukrainian 'Khorne' drone/artillery battalion,
and a few other references:

There is a Russian whose website is now US based whose quality is phenomenal, but prices are much higher than the average reaster (and worth it).

does the site name start with dark?

I'm a bit queasy when it comes to buying anything Russian atm...
I photographed refugee camps in Lebanon at the time off those gas attacks back then and it left a bad taste.
I'm sure there are plenty good people on both sides etc... but right now I prefer buying local (or Indian, or American, ...)

(my apologies for going off-topic, but thank you for your answer)

This one seems closer to the original art for the Khymerix.

some are on both sides, ...
but i don't think the majority off the soldiers on the Russian side have any 40k budget.

I've seen praying icons and anti-drone prayers (orthodox) and purity seals (40k) on the Russian side
On the Ukrainian side I've seen Chaos, Inquisition and Khorne references (the Khorne drone battalion being the best known)

wargame exclusive also has Ukrainian Imperial Guard models:
I can recommend the 'Ukrainian biologial weapons' and 'revenge of kherson' kit :D
