Necromunda Alternative Necromunda Miniature Sources (image heavy)

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

Yeah i just noticed that too but they mostly female also forgot to say look up necromunda on ebay they got most of original modals and terrain and they can go for quite cheep

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

I've used guardians as Van Sarr in the past... but that was back when GW still had their bits service, so the heads were easier to get. These days head-swaps are less "simple" than before, as the heads are harder to get.

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

I think Mad Russ would work well as a Sniper or with a little customisation, a Delaque with a needle rifle or something.

Tag Rimmel could be a fairly decent extra character imo.

I struggled to find many useful minis on the Hassle Free site.

The Agarix packs with the mushroom men could be cool for a scenario like It came from the sump or something similar.

I can just imagine gangs running away from a(or multiple) radioactive/toxic mushroom(s) that leave behind poisonous/hallucinogenic spores. =D

HFX003 Imogen Looks good too.

Some of those weapons could be nice too as it's always nice to find some unique looking weapons.

For terrain making, the steampunk gear may come in handy also.

Some of the resin bases are also kinda nice.

with a quick head and weapon swap the new dark eldar warriors would make good van saar alternatives

Agreed. With the spikes removed and the swaps you mentioned I think you could make a nice looking, unique, Van Saar gang. If you ever get around to that please post us some pics =) I'd be very interested to see the final result.

found this site for the uk sells GW stuff cheaper than GW http://www.giftsforgeeks.org.uk/

What a great resource! Thanks mate =)

Wow those new Heresy Trenchcoat gangers will probably make me place another order. I currently don't need more minis for my Delaque gang, but they just look so nice =P Plus, it's always nice to have some alternatives for those occasions when a gang member dies etc.

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

I wonder if there are any sources for 28mm 'blanks'. Mini's designed specifically to modify into the final product. That would be really, really nice.

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

I've actually seen a kit for just that purpose at a relatively local game store. The next time I head up there I'll take a pic and get more info about it and post it here.

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

Yeah, blank models are probably the best way for me to do this, as I'd waste more time trying to alter existing work than to add to nothing, if that makes sense. I'd also want to add that I'd be looking for both male and female, with suitable alternates for Juves (ie, kids, early teens). They don't have to be anatomically correct to the nth degree, but a general correctness would be nice.

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

Once you had your blanks, a place like Micro Art Studios seems like it would have some handy stuff to add to the body:

Guns and heads and such can be gotten from a lot of the pages already presented, but I haven't seen molds for armor and such other places.

Also Tale of War has some nice models that would work as Eschers:

Kinda expensive and I can't tell if they are limited at all, but pretty cool. They can be gotten through Cool Mini or Not as well.

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

I do believe that Reaper Miniatures has what I need there. If the blanks are Flexible- Awesome. If not, it isn't going to be too hard to modify arms and lets into shape. Hands and heads are obviously going to be cut off, save on juves. (how I'm going to do them, idk yet)

Re: Alternative Miniature Sources

Not at that price they aren't. 7$ for four? If they were selling them for that, GW would be crapping itself. But once I get some money that I can use online, I'll definitely be giving a review on them, as they'd be useful to any miniature gamer.
