While assembling the models from the core set, I had another look at the Journal announcement and had a thought. What if, like the ’Blades of the Matriach’, the two alternative gangs in the Journal will be the sae kind of gangs? This means no leader or champions, so no TP1+ Trade Post items in the campaign, but you get to play with some exclusive gear (like Khimerix Sting or Crucible hooks)? Maybe, in order to use Escher’s chemistry or Goliath’s Genesmithing, you will have to play with one of these ‘Anarchy‘ variants? Personally, I do not think the advantages (some weapons, extra skills on the fighters) outweigh the downsides of not having champions or a leader, but I haven’t played a campaign with them to be sure.

They can't even buy TP0 items from the Trading Post unless someone does a Visit Trading Post action, which will need someone learning the Connected skill, or reaching 37xp to be promoted to Champion, or hiring a Hanger-on that can do that action.

I doubt the new gangs will be without Champions and Leaders though. The upcoming Escher Leader & Champion box includes a Champion with a bow and Wyld bows are currently Wyld Runner only so I expect the Wyld Hunt gang to allow Champions with Wyld Runner gear. That or she's just a cool model to use for a Wyld Runner that manages to go from 4xp all the way to 37!

For all we know, this whole "alternate gang" was written by AI. That would explain their nonsensical existence. Take the Goliath's "Forge Smelters" for example: their Krumper Rivet cannon, which has the Assault train, is put on a fighter with Hip Shooting (= Assault trait). The guy with Bulding biceps is wielding the Ignition Cannon - a weapon that does not have a Heavy trait - another wasted skill, and no other fighter type may use this weapon. Whoever came up with this gang, wasn't really concerned about common sense in my opinion. The Escher gang does not have such glaring mistakes, their fighters actually make sense (apart from none of them being a champion or leader).

From what I can tell the escher kinda need both skills while the Goliath t4 is a thing so every model seems to waste a skill. Building them from the instructions the ignition cannon was the same body as the heavy stubber, the close combat weapons are the same way the skills don't synergize they contradict/ worthless to one build while working for the other on the sprue.
