Got the basic layout done. Need to invest in a hot wire cutter. Otherwise happy with the basic shape. Used some XPS foam. Then a scalpel to make some battle damage. Plans to paint some as if hit by plasma, melta & las weapons differt scorch marks.
Used an old guard model. With legs from an artillery officer to get the standing still look. Heads from the old empire militia, was a bucket with a little brim. Enlarged the brim and gave it the iconic Anzac half up using green stuff. And a little shaving to give it a little more shape on the top.
Plans to leave the pillar loose for easy storage, could as be used as some for off objective marker.
Been really enjoying working on it, been great getting back into it. Hopefully get some more done through the week.
Had a great time doing this. Was my first time making terrain.
Added some random shells I've had laying around and a few granades.
Learned a lot of new techniques. Really happy with the final result. Only thing I'm missing that I wanted to do and plan to do in the future is added some poppies growing in the black debris.
Update of Corpse Cart, added a few bits. Exhaust from a Guard Sentinel. Few random bit from the bits box. And the rails I had gifted ages ago no idea what game but i have a box of walls and fences and stuff. Also my girls gifted me some beads thingys to use as rivets.
Need to do some hole filling and it will be ready for some paint.
Life's been hectic but have managed to finished my entry for Comp 55.
Want to make a whole game of Plague Guard using the old Bretonnian Men at Arms. Not super keen on the current heads. just a bit of sprue green stuff and some eye dots on a men at arm head. would most likely look for some head and replace if I end up doing a whole game.
Corpse Cart came together in the end. Used a few different models to get the corpse pile. Now I only have about 49ish Plastic goliaths and orlocks floating around. The cart it self is meant to look as if it has grav tech on the rear with a single big tire on the front.
My favorite part is the "Leader" with his Scythe and Duelist Las pistol really happy how he came out.
Anyway pic dump of the finished models with a wip on the Men at Arms.
Been working away got the basic ideas down. Doing an Enforcer Racer /Patrol Car. Got the idea to do tracks from OG Carmageddon, using Heinz Faust car the King Merc as Inspiration. Plan to add exhaust and engine intake sticking out the bonnet. As well as a heavy stubber attached to a hatch on the roof.
Entry as finished as it will be, will go back to it once I have some time to add a Number and some Decals. Also want to add protection mesh over the windows and a Heavy Stubber on the Hatch. But it is done enough to be used as is.
Finished the first part of the build. Using an plastic orc as a base. Added a bunch of industrial style pieces. A few cogs, screws, mesh, spring. Used a 40k Knight head for a face, also a few spikes and some other bits.
Once the green stuff has set I'll go over and use some liquid Green stuff to smooth and fill out any missed bits. Then it's time to cover with chains and cables. Something a little like a Chain devils, or kytons from D&D.
Happy with the end result but painting was a pain trying to do the Bottom model layer with the Cable all over. If I ever made more I might paint the model Then add all the cable's then paint and touch up. But you live and learn.
Escher Pit Slave is finished other then basing. Turned out easy the I though after removing the arm. Used a necron arm for the more sleek look. Ended up using the multi part metal eviscerator from the 2nd release Redemptions.
Also made work on the Goliath Pit Fighter. Massive double chainswords from a IG sentinel kit. And some shoulder pads from an orc kit don't know which. Also making him with a larger mohawk from green stuff. Waiting for it to dry more before detailing. Also need basing done.
Really happy with how she turned out. Been an Idea in my head for years and can't say I'm disappointed in the result.
My Escher gang colour is Purple so have made sure she has a little but also added some Blue which is a planned colour for my Pit Slave gang that I want to make now.
