Gorkamunda submitted a new resource:

Apocalypse - A campaign setting involving Genestealer Cults taking over Hive Secundus. From Gang War #5

Hive Secundus has fallen! A Genestealer Cult has seized control of the Spire from within and hordes of Brood Brothers and Genestealers are invading Hive City. The carnage is terrible and no forces can stop their advance down-hive. The Imperial Guard forces protecting the city have been practically decimated due to half its number taking up arms with the aliens. Only the private armies of the Hive City Houses remain to resist, but each is too wary of its neighbours to unite against the advancing...

As someone who likes to study chronological lore of GW and such, I ask is this the very first and only instance of Hive Secundus falling to Genestealers until the 2017 reboot? Or did I miss that elsehwere between then.

Back in Space Hulk's Necromunda campaign, first published in White Dwarf and then in 1991's "Space Hulk Campaigns" book, there is an Imperial Fists versus genestealer cult campaign on Necromunda, but that is in the Acropolis Hive (Nautilus Spire of the Acropolis Hive, specifically).

"Canonically," the Imperial Fists were successful in purging that Hive of genestealers and their brood. Secundus is not mentioned in the text of that campaign.

So it's entirely likely that, Jason Peck (who still works in GW) had written such a popular adventure module for necromunda that it became a major plot point for N17 lore and even the new Secundus box that came out recently?

Was he working in GW back when it was published in the Citadel Journal / Gang War?
The article doesn't specify, but I believe if he did he'd probably have said something maybe. In any case he's currently a store manager at AZ and wrote articles for Bell Of Lost Souls prior to '17 so I'm inclined to believe he worked for them at least a little bit prior to N17.
