a Van Saar Gang have claimed this territory, which give him the possibility to give 2 traits blaze radphage seismic or shock to any weapons he want , with the drwaback that suche weapons got the unstable trait also,

Can he choose melee weapons and by doing so bypass the unstable drawback since melee weapons don't roll firepower dice?

They can add to a melee weapon, but you roll fire power dice when rolling to hit to see if unstable triggers.

Unstable doesn't cause you to roll a firepower dice during the attack step, it simply adds an effect when a certain result is rolled. If you play like this it's a house rule.
I may be wrong but i believe this territory was disallowed by an faq.
There's nothing in the faq about it, they don't ban stuff and there is nothing to change here

Sorry, I don’t understand your post. Unstable triggers when the ammo symbol is rolled on a firepower dice. If a weapon gains the unstable trait, then you can just use the firepower dice to see if it triggers or not. Obviously you’d still need to roll a d6 to see if the fighter goes out of action.

Or are you saying that the territory allows you to bypass the unstable trait by assigning the boon to a melee weapon?

Edit: I see this topic has already been discussed with similar debates https://yaktribe.games/community/threads/unstable-and-no-ammo.8774/

Perhaps it’s a house rule, perhaps it’s an interpretation our group all assumed was the correct one without debate.
