ORB ArchHive1995 Dome Wall Build Log

I have placed, not glued, all but a half dozen of the bulkheads. Mostly 6 high, but up to 10, it reaches a grand total of 9 feet 3 inches. The buildings spaced how I think you could reach into them well are about 24 inches deep measured from the wall arranged in a linear fashion. Buildings are varying in height from one at floor height to 10 high for several. This totals out to about 50 cubic feet of original Nec/Outlander settlement, more than 216 bulkheads in the wall alone. Dump can't do this good. :)

EDIT: Now to get the glue out. The plan is modular and boxed for transport.

You should try and fit it all on a 4x4 table and next to a single original set for full dramatic effect!

Hivequake. It shook all the buildings up onto a shelf, and one magically disintigrated into it's parts. It will merge with another building, freeing up some bulkheads. The merge will fill more of the dome wall, that will free up some more. Peaceful horizons.

Update no pics, I deconstructed (very difficult) one of the smaller buildings, and expanded four others up with the loosened up bulkheads. Plastic is in the mail for the floor plates, I only will need to make a few. It seems like an entire game could be in one building. Play four, then close the campaign in the set with a series of games. Tortuous rule stressing. Like a leg lamp in a patriarchal home. :D

Not even that chaps at Warhammer World are prepared for this big a slice of the Hive

I bet they are. I was at a store in Trenton, NJ, they had a Sector Imperialis "tower" that was probably 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. How many kits must have gone in that I do not know, but it was impressive.

I only mention it because I have literally never seen as many vintage bulkheads in one place. I don't even remember pictures of game boards from White Dwarf in the 90s that could actually represent as big a functional section of the Hive as yours.

I also try to place the layout so's you can reach all the places you need to. Two places on the dome wall are important, the ends so you can circle around a bit if you need to. The game boards they showed in the hey-day were nice, customized models that were 3d as opposed to these 2d floor plates. I intend to remodel some areas at some point.
