Astartes as Warband Members

Big mutie humans aren't that big or powerful, and cost no more than many "standard" xenos, so I don't think they need to be that limited. Ogryn and sllyth are contenders (though in some cases are not that bad, I think -- An ogryn with an axe and a ripper gun and flak or mesh armor isn't that big of a deal, about on par with a well-equipped heavy). A big mutie ogryn or sslyth on the other hand should definitely be relegated to the "big guy" slot.

It's not perfect, because it has a lot to do with equipment, but I tend to think of it in terms of TG ranges: Anything up to about 250-300 TG is probably okay in a heavy or elite slot. Over 300 TG and I think it becomes a candidate for the "Big Guy" slot.

But doing it by gelts is a very clunky way of doing it and you can get my previously posted "quasi" marine from a sslyth for under 300tg as gangs grow models will regularly get over the 300tb mark with how much easier kit is to get hold of, for the "big guy" slot idea to work we're going to need to find a definitive factor to guide us. Because as discussed you can get a marine for under 300tg and a genestealer two and there two of the Things some want as big things so anything on eaquel unequaled power.

I think the cost of models should be handled seperetly, with as some have suggested a limit on cost of a single model being limited to 30 or 40% of a warbands cost, that way models can get more expensive and better equipped as the warband grows

Well, I wanted a thunder warrior (or maybe a Luna wolf or an blackshield astartes from the HH) for my Ordo Chronos Retinue but seing as this can of worms goes, I think I'm just going to use the ogryn profile. After all, I wanted to write his story as a traumatized warrior so it will work.

Again, I just read the first few pages but since I don't even know where to start reading in general, I'm just starting here.

Hello all!

I realize this thread is long dead so I've started a new one you may be interested in:

It's my suggestion of how to include superhumans in a regular-sized human game like Necromunda without breaking it and in a lore friendly way.
