It is very easy to spam templates with Cawdor honestly. Even when not trying to spam my tentative first list has 4 flame templates.

Painted a cawdor. Squeak-Speaker the firebrand and rat bomber. Hood turned out a bit more brown and not as red as I imagined but let me know what you think.

Thanks a bunch! Typhus corrosion before the metal and subsequent dirty down rust gives a good texture for it to stick too.
Good to see that it can produce good results. Some recent chat on here was less complimentary about the stuff...
Interesting. I quite like the dirty down stuff but the criticisms made there are all fair. It's finicky and you have to manipulate it with water or it will be incredibly dark, at least the two I have tried which are just rust and verdigris. The verdigris especially is like mint green and will dry a bit brighter but will be really dark. The more water applied to thin it or using a damp brush the brighter it will be. It does work way better on bigger things, like bases will really let the effect look good with varying shades like here:
I think a better painter than me could probably do really good rust effects without relying on dirty down, I dont think it has a high skill ceiling so to speak.
It is expensive though frankly.
Campaign rages on and Van Saar have gotten at least one critical injury per game. Next campaign should have more underdog bonuses.

That bonepicker might be my favorite. I'm pretty sure its a viewport bit from an imperial guard sentinel. It was on some old imperial guard vehicle sprue anyway.
I need second opinions. Quite happy with this kitbash. Gonna be a outcast Ulanti noble leader. But is she just too tall to the point of comedy? She's a noble so she's been genemodded and stuffed full of bionics after all. got that dimitrescu gene. I dunno.
She's fine, the Cawdor would be as tall to the candle (ignoring feather). Your biggest issue is that you've make a bigger target.
Yeah, watch when it won't matter since she gets domed by a sniper game 1 of the next campaign.
I don't mind if she's a bigger target, surely nothing bad will happen.
I think she looks fine! Its not like there aren’t freakishly tall people in John Blanche’s art from time to time!!
She is lovely. As a leader type I think the tall and imposing woman is a great fit.
