Hi All, I want to get into the world of FDM printing for bigger projects, plus the material type will be better for the scenery ideas I have planned combining the bulkheads with printed floors.

I’ve narrowed the choice down to the PS1 £429 or the CC at £300 which would you pick? I must admit I have brand loyalty to Elegoo having used a Mars resin printer for years with little issue, the price difference is also appealing.

Bamboo I've heard makes great-functioning products but there was a bit of drama among the hobbyist crowd due to a firmware update locking them down a bit. Found this about the drama itself. Short version seem to be that they require proprietary app connections and that might be a dealbreaker for some. I'd recommend reading up on it.

Thanks @SirFrog I suppose the risk is they start charging you a subscription fee somewhere down the line, that said I’ve used the default Elegoo basic slicer programme (Chitubox? Maybe?) with little issue so it’s probably not a deal breaker for me.

What possible could be is the delivery times for the Elegoo printer, it’s apparently a couple of months. But I could wait that to save £100+ squid. In terms of aftersales Elegoo once completely replaced my Mars 3 printer due to a fault so that’s swaying me as well. Hmmmm

I use a Bambu A1 and have found it to be a very capable printer, with the P1 being the next level up. I've had no issues at all with their slicer. I did have an issue due to operator error that damaged the print head, but the replacement part was cheap and the fix was very easy.

I can't say anything about the Elegoo CC as I've not used one. I do have an Elegoo resin printer though and have been happy with the quality.

I have an Elegoo Neptune 3 from a while back and build quality is pretty good, in my opinion. It is a printer for the more handy, though, and I can't vouch for their recent outings.

I’ve only ever used one 3d printer, the BambuLab A1 so have no other frame of reference, but it’s been chugging out consistent prints since December and hasn’t so much as hiccuped. The slicer is simple, the phone app is surprisingly useful, as a first foray into printing I’ve been pretty much blown away and am a total convert now, to the point I’m even looking into a resin printer for future use.
I thought the issue with locking the printers to their own slicer impacted printer farms more than casual users but I didn’t pay that much attention to what was going on, my printer works just fine so whatever 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
