But with the season 2 release, I was overcome by impulse and bought the box.

Played my first game in 25 years with my son, and yeah... much smoother experience than the last set of rules, just as much fun, if not more....

I will almost certainly be making a pitch at some point.

My FLGS has a copy of second season that someone traded in unopened. They sent me a pic saying “hey! Look what we have!” (Guess I should be flattered they remember me?) but the price was still $135.00

Setting up... I'm Black Orcs... Ryan is trying out Lizardmen using Imperial Nobility as proxies.

And I hark back to original edition BB. Thats the last ruleset I played.

Yes, you see things like that on ebay DE from time to time too Currently, for example, in DE an used old Necromunda basic box (DE) and Outlander basic box (EN), or the "The Caller - Rat prophet".

Some things might interest me theoretically, but I am not prepared to pay the fantasy prices that I think are often called for.

I pity the lad. His 'Lizardmen' got put to extinction by the end of the game. My injury and armour dice rolls were just brutal, all in one turn.

Further update. We played a second game, still learning the rules of course, but faster and more furious.

Even more fun. He lost again, but BB isn't about the winning and losing as much as laughing like crazy at the stupid bloody troll picking his nose for 4 turns (on 2+ roll, with team rerolls being burned) and the goblin that dropped the ball every, single, time. I turned over soooo many turns. And it was hilarious.

His Lizardmen team has been ordered.... 🐊🦎🦖

I also have a 20+ year BB gap. It just did not take back then, and I really regret that. Now, I've been playing since before the Year of Gaming Dangerously, and am our League's Commissioner.

We just started our 8th season's playoffs. Due to scheduling conflicts (I so wish others would NOT get a life!), played two League playoff games this weekend (Sat. and Sun). First, my friendly, if somewhat standoff-ish, Elven Union versus cruel and degenerate Chaos Dwarfs. Took a beating, but pulled off a sneaky, lucky game winning touchdown on the last turn that I'm not proud of .

Then, next day, sneaky, stinky, stunty Goblins (we hates them!). Shoulda been a cake walk. But my friend coaching his (really well-painted) greenskins is really good at being really bad. I took 7 casualties (four will miss next week's Super Bowl). Yes, I pulled off another game winning touchdown on the last turn that I AM proud of.

Next weekend is Super Bowl Sunday...Skaven. Rats, it had to be rats!

Alas, the Super Bowl did not go my way. My despicable opponent pulled every legal trick in the book. Worse, I taught him the dang game! They grow up so slow; we grow old so fast. Was a great game, well played!*

*So, uh, true fact...I've played in 7 of our 8 Super Bowls! And, umm, err, only lost all 7. I'm beginning to suspect a pattern here?

Oh, weedy gobbos being both cunnin´ and brutal?? ;) They have a little rough time in the rules now so.. Hat´s off?

How did it go versus da stinkin´ rat-´fingz?

Goblins gots to Foul. And, when they do...grrr. Plus chainsaws and ball and chain...more Grrrs. Was a hard nights day (are my 60 year-old puns still relevant?).

And, yes, the Rats won. But it was serious fun. I work harder during a BB game than any other miniature games I play. And, fortunately, all my years in the US Navy gave me a repertoire of curse words that usually last until at least well into the Second Half.

Some Beatles reference? :)

Poor Goblins seems to suffer though, they have been nerfed a bit. But this time it seemed like it did not matter too much!

A, a fellow serviceman. We usually have more colourful vocabulary and atendency to use it. I like that.. ;)

Don't cry for Goblins! When we get to the playoffs, Current Team Value is usually in the 1400's. Well, my Elven Union were 5 shy of 1500. On the other hand, Gobbos don't collect a lot of skills and their players are cheap. Which gave my stink'n opponent about 350 Petty Cash. Bring on bribes and chainsaws, and Bomber Dribblesnot, and whatnot. So, a well-equipped, well-played Goblin team to be reckoned with. In the immortal words of Top Gun's Maverick, "It wasn't pretty."

lol, yeah. I am very tempted to get a Goblin team.. Just overly expensive from GW and not looked for alternatives (I should!)
But my Blorcs don´t get enough playtime and i need normal Orcs..

High Elves huh? :)

3D alternatives are pretty cool these days. My whimsical Orcs I printed and painted specifically for Beach Bowl are my best looking team (and I have them all). Retirement is sooo underrated!

I gave those Gobbo's a thumbs up. But, I want to praise you like I should. You got the highlights just right. That's the bane of my painting existence. Well done!
