They still have tanks? Not that I don't love the Lungbursta...I heartily agree. The ghost warriors were cute.
That reminds me. This is a bit of a loophole case but I much prefer the ork epic 40k tanks to their recent update in regular 40k
I was counting their rewriting of the battlewagon with the names for their major epic 40k tanks as having tanks. They still have tanks? Not that I don't love the Lungbursta...
Yes I'm referring to epic 40k when they had a wonderful range of orky tanks. I disliked the gormamorkafication of the orks....I just realised the strange robot model that I couldn't identify that I sold on ebay years ago for a pittance was an Eldar Ghost Warrior. They'd completely passed my by. Whoops. Well, someone got a bargain. Mind you in those days the gouging for OOP models wasn't so obscene as it is now.
As for Orks & tanks... I thought official Ork doctrine was still "take someone else's tank and stick orky stuff to it". Or maybe that's what you mean - you preferred when they had their own tanks?
Yeah, it was the death knell for the vibrant imaginative Orks of old. Now everything is basically Mad Max knockoffs - which is ironic as they didn’t need to rid of that IP again (Dark Future) as they already had a rich background and design aesthetic for the Orks!!Yes I'm referring to epic 40k when they had a wonderful range of orky tanks. They were magnificent! The Weirdboy tower was particularly funny - literally a Stone tower being driven about on a vehicle chassis.Epic Ork tanks had such cool names too... Sleenripper, Gobsmasha, Gutripper, Bowelburner, Bonebreaker, Braincrusher and Lungburster (did I miss any?). Ah the good old days...
At least a few of these got the old cardboard and slotta base treatment. A friend had a Gobsmasha he'd built from the old Modelling Workshop articles. That's the White Dwarf content I really miss.It was always my hope that gw would make all these magnificent vehicles for 40k
I always found it fascinating that they had tiled roofing
I see what you mean.Bowelburna sort of exists in the form of one of the new buggies (the rivet gun one); just needs to be a bit up armored.
That's my favourite of the new buggies as it's clearly inspired by some of those classic designs.Bowelburna sort of exists in the form of one of the new buggies (the rivet gun one); just needs to be a bit up armored.
Glad to see a lot of love for the old ork vehicles, I lived the old bikes, buggies, Walthamstow and skorchas, and lets not forget the old Mekboy vehicles.
Oh! And Pulsa Rokkits!
Not a fan of the new Snakdakka Waaghspeedsterz or whatever the new tanks are called, all they needed to do was remake the Gobsmasha and call it a day.
As for classic old models, I'm a sicker for the RTB01 beakies, would take them over Primaris all day every day.
Unique names can be copyrighted.I like the new buggies but their names are ridiculous. It is like the wanted to recreate the old ork Days but forgot how to make funny names

Oh yeah, add ogres, minotaurs, and stone trolls to the list.
Late to the party, just piping in about the minotaurs. Off thetop of my head, they have the biggest discrepancy between old miniatures and new plastics. I wouldn't accept those new sculpts as a gift!*Yes, when they did that big beastman release in 98 (?) I loved those models so much I got a whole army worth but I foolishly did not grab the minotaurs.
Of course you could be referring to earlier minotaurs but I love those ones.
Again my folly comes down to not thinking they'd replace them with models I'd never buy.
