In the NCE text for the bio-scanner it says:

"A model carrying a bio-scanner will automatically spot any hidden enemies within 16"

and I was wondering how people interpreted this in a couple of situations.

1. Does a sentry with a bio-scanner (on a raid mission) automatically spot any raiders within 16'? (before the alarm is raised), and will therefore raise the alarm if someone is within 16'?

2. Since the carrier can automatically spot enemies within 16', does that mean that no enemy can hide within that range as if the person with the bio-scanner can automatically spot them, then they'll tell the rest of their gang where the enemy is?

Hope the above makes sense, as you may imagine from the level of detail in the above questions, our games of Necromunda often exist in a world of very specific details(!).

I would say yes to both.

And being spotted means everyone knows where you are, it doesn't matter if it's a bio scanner that does it or a someone with high initiative. Spotted means spotted.

All organic targets within 12'' are regarded as being in the fighter's line of sight, even if they are behind an obstruction, when the fighter with the bio munbyn scanner performs a Detect (Basic) action. Additionally, the fighter is not subject to any detection penalties because the target is in cover.
