Cabal-voxtel sets up in Port Kraken.

Cabal-voxtel has set up a station in Port Kraken to transmit vox and tel broadcasts of the bloodier games up hive.
A particular viewer favourite are the Bloodbowl games, dating back to ancient Necromunda History when the House Nuffel was a major player in the game of houses.

The games are set as a tournament where the gangs can pick 8 fighters to be their team,of which they will use up to 5 in their match squad. combatants can only use pistols and close combat weapons and weapons with a range no longer than 12" (thrown weapons can exceed this as they are strength dependent).
The viewers want these matches up close and personal.
The board should be at least 28" long so each gang has a t least 12"to the central line to the score zone, which is the 24"X 2"+ directly central area away from the centre point of the map.
The gangs both deploy up to 10" away from the centre line. On the central marker the Ball is placed, the aim of the game is to get the Ball into the opponents score zone, mutilating as many as possible along the way...
Gangs will play as many rounds as their team can survive, the only replacements during the games are from the remaining 3 fighters chosen at the beginning.
Income will be awarded after each game with bonuses for thematic TV results...
Grand prize for winning teams and booby prize for lowest. Hangars on perks apply, no hired guns but Brutes okay.
Gangs can not use mounts or gear that acts in such way: wrecker packs or grav cutters (during this season's cup at least....)

After doing sweet fa for months after getting the hernia last year and then recovering from the op, this last week I have cranked out a load of bits whilst on paternity ;)

This has been due to running a new intro club for the flgs near me in Llanelli. They have agreed to let me do a couple of nice gaming boards up one of which will be a sump sea surface, which we will be able to use for Sump sea campaigns as the stores name is "Kraken"

The campaign so far https://yaktribe.games/underhive/campaigns/in_the_gutters_of_port_kraken.18153/

Leading onto

so far this one has only had the initial phases of acquisition added, once all the territories have been claimed I will add in more before a "ThunderBowl" tournament to thin the gangz bacm down before heading out on the boats. This will also give me time to prepare and resin the boards nicely.

2015 vivid toys super size T2, I found this in a bunch of stuff going to the top, but a bit of Google fu will find them on eBay from a £10 up.
The scale is spot on and this would actually fit the landing pad gw did years ago.

The Bus had been planned to be used as an ash wastes vehicle but I stopped half way through rebuilding it and lost the screws to replace the bottom, so it became terrain, which I now am more chuffed with ;)

So the start of a really mad project 3 modular double sided boards, 2 of which will be sump sea surfaces....
Got the boards prepped and sealed. Going to do the large board as one then cut down middle to get it all to match easier. The smaller board will have one side done to be a coastline, the other just plain ash wastes surface.

Have yet to put my mind to that, hoping I can lay my hands on some idoneth bits at some point, maybe some kharadrom kitbashes, we shall see what pocket and trades can come up with, hopefully trades will yield well as pocket is a bit bare... ;)

We will use the rules from book fo the sum by kacper kuc with some of the Apocrypha stuff chucked in too.

Are you using MDF for the base? If so, what did you use as a sealant? I used MDF on my terrain tiles project, and ended up getting a small amount of warping. I didn't seal mine, but subsequently heard that using some kind of oil-based primer is the ticket (water-based primers on MDF supposedly can cause warping). I ended up experimenting with the oil-based primer on a large sheet of MDF just to see what would happen, and it didn't warp. The rattle can version of oil-based primer is kind of pricey in my area though.

Would gesso work?? Mel (The Terrain Tutor on YouTube) suggested using watery wall filler to effectively seal both sides of MDF base plates.

I’ve not used it in that fashion but I have had to issues with spraying MDF scenery.

There’s always Foamx too as an alternative.

First layer of sand on the big board with the chem pools marked out for the basic side.
Double layer of sand on the small boards basic side. Going to add 2nd layer of sand to big board and then start painting, so the two sides that are just ash wastes are fully done before turning over for the sump sea part.

I like the idea, but I think those multicolored pools should be the same color…. It looks a bit like an Ash Wastes: The Wiggles Edition board….

Maybe if they were a single main color with colored swirls or edges? Spots of different colored bubbling effluent?
