Hi folks! This is my first post here! I'm trying to put together a House of Faith list for an upcoming Ash Wastes campaign

I want to make a Cawdor gang themed after Bretonnia (more specifically, Repanse de Lyonesse). I wanted to ask how best to represent these with the profiles HoF has available to Cawdor.

My thoughts so far are a melee focussed leader as my lady inspired by Repanse herself, with access to various group activations/buffs that Cawdor do well. She would be modelled with some kind of double handed sword weapon, mesh armour and, if possible a tilting plate style scrap shield, as well as a Fleur de Lys standard that would work as a cult icon.

My main question is whether to use the Priest or Wordkeeper profile for her? A Wordkeeper can take a greatsword (which seems underwhelming as a melee leader weapon?), mesh, and the scrap shield, and could take a skill like Bull Charge to have a bit of melee weight. I worry that the two-three attacks she'd get with this profile would not give her the combat presence I want though :(

A Priest could take an eviscerator, which feels a little beefier in combat (though actually doesn't have a huge melee advantage over the greatsword), can't take the scrap shield, and would probably take a piety skill, or maybe rain of blows.

For champions, I'm keen to have a nice heavy crossbow firebrand, but I'm less sure of what to do with my other one - I wanted to make another melee fighter, perhaps depicted as a sort of Bretonnian Paladin in heavier armour and with a (chain) axe and shield, but both the firebrand and deacon profiles don't lend themselves spectacularly to melee. Another thought I had was to reference the Damsel hero type from the Bretonnian roster in my second champ - though quite how I could equip her I don't know!

My questions to the tribe are, how would you go about representing these Bretonnian archetypes in the Cawdor roster? Do you have any other thoughts about what I could do with a second champ? What weapons are good that I could take on a Cawdor leader, that also have a knightly aesthetic?

For a knight character a mount, flail, scrap shield, gutterforged cloak with flak on either a firebrand or wordkeeper.
I like the greatsword as it does have sever which can be a really boon if your rubbish at rolling injury dice like me....

i find a chainglave on a wordkeeper or champion works well alongside a shotgun or autorifle.
the scrapshield is only of use in limited situations.
dont forget the priest will make your gang outlaws , but would be worth it for the faith points.
the crossbow is unwieldy , so buy a suspensor rig as soon as possible (if there is a black market in your game)
a long rifle specialist with a scope is a must have.
keep faith in the emprahh and your candles lit🕯️

I don't know why I hadn't thought of getting a mount for my Ash Wastes Bretonnian Cawdor - that should have been my first stop! Now I'm thinking of Cawdor riding wolfrats converted from the newer AoS direwolves, with some bionic cabling and scrap barding added of course!

I love the stats of a chainglaive, and could feasibly put it on a champion or ganger occupying a man-at-arms sergeant role, or a footsquire. I know the scrap shield is of limited use, I was including it for fun thematic narrative reasons (but maybe only one or two, so as not to throw too many creds away. I had forgotten about Priests and outlaw status, which is a great reason to lean on the Wordkeeper, I think whether they stay lawful or not, they do need to start that way narratively.

I don't really like the aesthetics of the long rifle for my Cawdor, as good as it may be on paper. I could see myself converting a more high-medieval looking proxy, but I wouldn't want to confuse people who may think it was a heavy crossbow instead. If anybody has thoughts on making a low tech version of a long rifle, let me know!!

Your models are stunning, appreciate the encouragement and inspiration!! Candle time!!!

perhaps a 'staff sling' or longbow for a long rifle or just go silly and tie a pistol to the end of a pike?
you could put your wordkeeper on a hand cart pulled by a bonepicker or rats.
good luck and stay faithfull

I wanted to do a little corpse cart pulled by Bonepickers as one vehicle!! Maybe just run it as a quad sized vehicle (or whatever footprint it ends up having, maybe a little larger?). I think I also want to do something, maybe a main beefy vehicle, that chimes on the grail reliquae with a dead knight atop it (again it can coincide with it being the leader's vehicle as a cult icon/book of redemption).

It has a large footprint but looks very flimsy so have opted for the light vehicle. Still costs in at 565creds with the priest on top though. I have found a range of toy cars from home bargains that fit as nice medium scrap trucks. Will get a pic later.
