Necromunda Captain Brown's Showcase of Building and Painting Old School Necromunda - Figures and Terrain

Been a bit of a gap.

Just wanted to share some scratch built terrain I made with dog bag cores, some patterned plastic card, and a little wire.

That’s very nice and a good recycling version of a classic bit of terrain (I’ve even seen plastic straw versions on model railway layouts)!

I think the pallet could do with a touch more height so it looks like a forklift or crane could get under them to lift them up. Would be easy enough to do without altering the work you’ve done.
A rectangle of card/plasticard and some I-beam and paint and you’re done!!

A few I-beams or similar could do it, just placed under the pipes. Don't need an actual pallet. I worked a few shifts in a lot for a company that rented out mega tents or temporary warehouses. Nothing was on the ground, but just a few pieces of timber under the elements, and maybe for spacing between layers, worked so the forklift could handle most of the heavy lifting. In the underhive it would probably be metal beams of some sort.

I can do that, I might see if I have some small squarer plastic card strips to make those.

This piece was originally built from some pieces of a damaged tower, rather than make it just like the original, I matched the patchwork cardboard this one used with plastic card.

If you look carefully, you will even see some garbage in the corners on the ground level, chains hanging from a bulk head, some identity markings on plates, etc.

Good eyes MusingWarboss. I use them to reinforce the platforms and prevent heavy models sliding off if they cause some sagging. It also looks cool as if there are loads of pipes and conduits in the ceiling.

That's one of those "so brilliant and simple, everyone could have thought of it, but nobody did" things. Because I sure didn't.

The three-storey hex tower was always a favourite!! It’s odd seeing it in rusty red colour!!

Looks pretty good, I do love that old cardboard set - it got almost everyone into Necromunda right away!!

Those angles really show the support sprues. The cool thing is that you don't have to imagine them away. They look like they could really belong there, either as structural support or running cables etc.

@Captain Brown If you're getting close to a full board with your towers, how about breaking out a few of your classic metal gangs for some photos? Would be awesome to see your new-old tower terrain with the original minis that you painted so well!
