Necromunda Cardyfreak's Necromunda plog

Got the game in tonight;
The Cold Forge Snatchers of House Cawdor faced off against @UnderCaveman ’s Orlock Brotherhood of the Sump in a smash and grab scenario, Cawdor defending five loot caskets with the orlocks out to take the lot.
The Cawdor sniper was pretty lethal banging some head shots from across the board, but the pressure applied by the superior firepower of the Orlocks took its toll and the Cawdor finally buckled handing the battlefield to the Orlocks.
A fun moment with a Cawdor Juve making a huge charge only to get pulped on reaction attacks, but the Cawdor leader ghosted into position and purged the Orlock with holy promethium.

Been having some fun with the Dirty Down yellow rust paint!

I’ve loved the rust effect stuff it was called Model Mates, but I recently saw they did a yellow rust effect paint and I think it might have surpassed the original stuff in my humble opinion! It gives a great wet, fresh rust effect that gathers in the corners of things before the dark rust sets in I might have gone a bit overboard on these containers but I couldn’t help myself ha!

I’ve been spending time on the less glamorous elements, painting up pipes and some of the little wall furnitures and what not. Had a bit of fun with these-

I used some air drying clay on the back of these and glued a magnet into it so they’ll stick to the zone Mortalis walls.

Set up the board for the next game, it’s a power relay point that the gangs have to cross. Perhaps tap energy from the other side or something, but the pipes will be firing plasma at anyone who gets too close bwahaha!

That is a lot of official piping!
It can with all the zone Mortalis sets I bought, the sprues have been sitting in a box for ages so thought it was time to put a dent in it, there’s still a good few sprues left though šŸ˜…
Not only is the set-up great, but the quality of painting is superb - better than GW studio standard imo.
That’s very kind of you to say! My methods might not be the quickest, but I think they’re pretty straightforward and give acceptable results so ill take the compliment ha!

That marketplace is on my Christmas wishlist. How robust would you say it is? I'm a bit skeptical of transporting it
It’ll be relatively tough. What I’d do is turn the stalls upside down and store things in them - less chance of leg bending or snappage.

If you have similarly hollow other terrain you can do double duty and store the stalls in those and then scatter terrain in the stalls - all upside down.

I’m not sure if I’m explaining that ok but it’s how I store my MDF large towers in a really useful plastic box. Put a bit of kitchen roll (or foam if you’re extravagant) under them to save the painted surface.

I have a set and they're more robust than the spindly legs would lead you to believe BUT I would still have some foam to put it in for transport.
So, like he said, either have a box with holes for the legs or put it in upside down with some foam inside.

I would probably want something to protect them. The back leg/support doesn’t have any diagonal bracing so they can come off if something pushes too hard on them, I’ve had one that proved particularly troublesome, it comes off with little persuasion and I’d glued it with polystyrene cement. It isn’t that there’s a bit of sprue stopping it bonding or anything, it’s just the mating surfaces aren’t quite sticking.

Played a Badzone game against @UnderCaveman tonight, and oh boy was it crazy. We played Escape the Badzone but with a number of modifications; the environmental condition was a custom one, where the electrical conduits would dangerously overload at the beginning of each turn on a roll of 3+. Anyone within d3ā€ of any plasma conduit would suffer a Sd3 hit before rolls for priority.

Needless to say, from turn 1 I got absolutely smashed with electrical discharge. One of my scum was splattered off a perilous walkway and landed in a heap on the pipes below, and was fried over the next few turns until he became a charred mess.
One of my juves took a leap of faith over a gap and was promptly smashed by electricity upon landing, and his friend failed his jump and also ended up licking plasma-powered coils on the pipes below.
UnderCaveman had a slightly easier run at first but was soon tasting bolts of lightning, but deployed some fine grenade work to trouble my push up the board.
My leader survived a short range plasma blast from his leaders plasma gun, and returned the favour with a gout of promethium that bathed his leader and champion, setting his leader ablaze and effectively neutralising him for the rest of the game.
After some bloody exchanges of fire and some close-combat, the Cawdor Cold Forge Snatchers took the victory and vowed never to go near an electrical plug ever again.
