Necromunda Cardyfreak's Necromunda plog

Yeah, I was thinking someone left it there because they couldn't get it up all the stairs.

Maybe they can still return it for store credit.

After all the fun of the tower I’ve been in a prep phase with much of the other terrain I was printing.
I’d printed off tonnes of the Undernidus 28 Kickstarter terrain and have been priming and base-coat-spraying to get a head start on the detailing. I’ve been using those AK paint pens and markers on some of this, but I’ve also been masking and spraying, or dabbing paint on here and there. There’s also been a wash stuck over the 4x4 square pieces.

I also had some more fun with lighting effects in this piece-

Yes, it’s a bit shit. But I don’t care, I wanted it to look like a neon nightmare, it’s going to be an arcade hangout for the youth of the Underhive. I’ve printed arcade cabinets off and vending machines to fill it out a bit.

My little three year old son was in the garden room the other day getting all of daddies ‘castles’ out to play with, I’ll stick a few photos of the town he made ha!

Been a while since I painted a model, I’ve been mainly gluing models together or pissing about with terrain. Got the new shiny stuff and while I was gluing this fella together I could tell he would be a nightmare to paint if I didn’t do it in sub-assemblies.
Seeing as how I drift wildly from project to project, I figured if I didn’t paint this guy up I’d end up losing half of him or forget what the hell I was doing, so here he is. I went for the zombie-dude look rather than the Golden God style.
Meh. He’s done.

As much as I disagree with the entire concept of him being a playable model in the game, he does look good (y)
One could paint him black and purple and call him Karloth Valois too I reckon. Uber Valois. He’s got the halo thing which could double as the dark crown?

The chained ghost of Necromunda rises again…

Oooooooooooh *clank clank* This is a game about the dregs of society, scraping a meagre existence in the dirt and filth in the rotting carcass of a once-great civilisation…

Waaaaaail *clank clank* it offers enormous potential to build custom characters as the game progresses and everyone starts from the same place…“

GW2017: Shall we just give everyone all the fancy guns from day one? Shall we also fully implement that unpopular House Weapons list from a decade or so back? Maybe change how the fighters can progress and make them all start from different places?

GW2018: Shall we just concentrate on making really expensive resin models of named characters that have their own unique gear and statlines? Maybe make an old fan favourite in plastic even though we’ve not finished the gangs yet?

GW2019: Shall we just introduce a horror themed gang into the setting that’ll wreck almost everyone it comes across and makes games with them as suck until we buff the rest back up?

GW2020: Shall we just invent new overpowered fighter classes unique to the Individual gangs? Shall we also just forget we made that horror gang for a long time, possibly forever…

GW2022: Shall we just sack off the Underhive and give everyone vehicles, except the Delaque as they suck.

GW2023: Shall we completely rewrite the backstory of Necromunda and start making actual models representing Major Characters who shouldn’t really have any place interacting with the plebeian classes?

GW2026: Shall we just resurrect the Emperor and have him personally whip the planet into dust??

GW2030: Shall we release a new Version of Necromunda that’s completely rewritten for the competitive tournament scene?

Don't clearly say it's a new edition though, just release a rulebook that's implied to partially supersede the previous books

You forgot the absolutely critical bit in any modern Necromuda release - make sure it has plenty of typos!

Also Cardy that version of Ozzy looks as good as any of the versions on the GW website - I love the zombie skin and the green gems in particular.

Cheers man. First mini I’ve painted in ages. I did the little cherub dude as well. Then I remembered about the half painted genestealers from a year and a half ago so I’ve started back up on them to get them cleared off the to-do pile!

Had a little go at some more terrain and a hanger-on. Also finished the bases on a bunch of chaos dudes that have been hanging around for ages.

Here’s some terrain though.
Been fancying starting up a Hive Guys franchise for a while, and as I’ve been messing around with an STL editor, I decided to have a crack at making a 3d printed one. I took an STL from Saucerman Studio’s Flatline City range and modified it, this is the result-

Also painted up this handsome and hygienic fellow to work here-

And the final piece I’ve been working on is this fine eatery for the food district-

I’m currently printing some stuff up for 5 Parsecs from Home as a little break from Necromunda stuff. Think I’ll have another big terrain push this spring and summer and try to leave well alone and play with what I’ve got. It’s pretty obscene the amount of terrain I’ve been printing. 3d printers are lethal.

Was a nice morning this morning so got all my unprimed minis I’ve been building over the last year out and gave them a prime. I’m intending to use a whole bunch of speed paint on these so I’ve primed a lot of them white.

In amongst all this there are-
-Kill Team Rogue Trader goodies and baddies
-Inquisitorial Agents
-Secundus baddies
-Squats
-Hive Scum
-Delaque
-Justicars
-Plastic Hangers-on
-Forgeworld Traders
-Adeptus Arbites
-Corpse Grinders
-Old 90’s Metal Chaos Cultists

There’s some other random bits and bobs thrown in too, but this should be enough to keep me busy for the next few… years.

Had a little go at these chaps for a few hours with the AK speed paint markers and some metallics from the play markers set, got to say they’re doing an okay job to lash things out rapidly. Will be very handy for travelling or painting in the work van etc.
These still need a wash on the metallics and a little highlight here and there but even though they’re rough as f**k overall I’d be happy to field these as goons for a scenario.
