Necromunda Cardyfreak's Necromunda plog

That redemptionist conversion is something else! Considering I still have that particular Warcry model kicking about, I am tempted to steal it...
It goes together really well, I think the head and neck piece of the Redemptionist completely cover the gap from the Warcry head, and I just stuck a few grenades on his chest. I think that was it, nice and easy.

After leaving it sitting around unpainted for years, I’ve finally made a start painting the Gallowdark terrain sets.

I got a full set of the core terrain and two sets of the add-ons each, and it’s sat in a box, clipped off sprue, waiting for the time when my mind is engulfed by madness enough to start.

‘Twas a nice day in North East England so I decided to get it out and give it a spray. I’ve gone for rusty tines with spot sprays of a sickly green, and my intention is to oil-wash it and give it blue and green patinas here and there. The doors I’ll be doing yellow probably. Maybe some blues. Mostly yellows though.

We played N23. Been a while since I’ve played any Munda, but I forgot what a slog it is to play N23. So many rules require looking up, I’m really hoping the new one speeds things up. It’s looking quite positive in that respect as far as o can see. We played a game of Killteam on Sunday using the 2021/22 rules and it played better, despite the engaged/not engaged silliness!

Good to know. I've mostly ignored the stuff on the new edition, my group will be going to oldmunda for a camapign to let the dust settle on new new munda (so good they named it twice!), then we might pick up a campaign of it.

Had kill team got the campaign advancement that necro does? never really played it much beyond a intro game here or there.

Current KT24, no doesnt have a campaign mode to begin with for some odd reason. I think they added it back kinda with the shadowhunt box and should be free on the warcom page now. I do enjoy KT21 campaign mode. It wasnt anything crazy or in depth but an okay way to make progress with your operatives. Been playing KT21 with compedium teams because its way easier.

We only played a one off battle as I haven’t played it before and my brother only once years ago so we were just feeling it out a bit.
I’m itching to get an N95 campaign on the go. I think I’ll try the newest one out and pivot over to the boyo afterwards to cleanse the palate!

I played GSC straight from the book and it was quite refreshing to have everything I needed in one place! Well I say that, I needed the rulebook too which I bounced off when I was trying to parse the rules. I hate it when the writers use weird terms for things like ‘turning point’ for a round, there were some other terms that had me scratching my head. My brother had a better grasp on it though, and within a turn or two it all made sense. Definitely had my head in the books less than N23.

Got the first two-game cycle of the new N26 in yesterday with my brother and we had a laugh!

First game saw a rather imbalanced setup with the whole Escher Xeno Blades tribe in play from the first round against only three of my Goliath Keepers Of The Orphan Forge. The Escher quickly took the victory points and by the end of turn 2 it was over, with Goliath reinforcements being unable to stop the hair-dye tide taking the Fighting Pits terrain. The only real moment of note was the skirmish between the Escher Death Maiden and my Goliath Forge-Born prospect, with the prospect managing to survive a round of combat and wisely breaking off to fight another day.

The second battle was a more even affair with both gangs setting up full numbers, bar one Escher casualty from the game before.
There were some fun exchanges of fire, with the Escher heavy-stubber nailing one of her own gals in between being a pain in my arse with long range rapid fire, and my bolter champion almost taking the Escher leader out in a hail of bolts but for one armour save keeping the lady in the fight. The Death Maiden continued to be a terror, but my Goliath leader levelled the sights of his comi-plasma pistol at her and… rolled a one, causing the unstable pistol to almost take him out 😂 both leaders showing why W3 is such a good thing!
Anyhow, the Escher casualties began to rack up and they called it a day leaving the Goliaths to snatch the coveted Synth-Still from their poison-dripping claws. Fortunately Chris had been using the slink-away double action and most of his fighters were free to perform post cycle actions.

With access to the trading post and heavy weapons now within my grasp, I’ve purchased a heavy-bolter for my specialist ganger heavy. I’ve still got a few creds to spare so I’ll think of something else to get my new ganger; possibly an autogun. He’s a munitioneer specialist so he’ll be cleaving closely to the heavy bolter to keep it in the game. I’m unsure whether to arm him for range or to defend the heavy at close range.

I gave my prospect the Fearsome skill, as news of her tangle with the Death Maiden spreads around the dome.

Then I converted and painted an autopistol Juve for my Goliaths-

Then I finished off Scabs, he’s been lurking around in my desk for a while now needing little bits here and there. He can join Kal in the ‘done’ pile.
