Cawdor/GW4 Speculations/Discussions

I'm torn on new rules for hired guns. My group uses house rules for gang tactic cards, hired guns and underdog bonuses, and they work rather well. There has been a few Bounty Hunters and Scum visiting our tables, and our games have been better for it!
When new rules hit, I think most will prefer to play by them if they function at least ok, but I suspect they will have some glaring omissions and on the whole make the game function worse than now (for my group!).
But they could of course be awesome...

Don't take everything I say (or anything I say) too seriously :p
Gang war II contained what? Orlcks, hired guns and some rules for new tiles. I think that was all the new content it added so in my mind at least hired guns are a third of that book. As for so what? I paid money for that book. Nonetheless I am kind of excited to get a rework of the bounty hunter rules even if it doesn't include the rest of the hired guns (though I hope it does) especialy if they rework the dramatis personae to have more than three weapons as the rules alow for regular bouty hunters and their models portray.
After Gang War III, I have high hopes for Gang War IV.

I’m afraid to say but they [Cawdor] will be an all male gang ... Whilst Orlocks are currently having 3 female gangers sculpted and Goliaths preciously was confirmed had one being sculpted ... So sounds like 4 gangs will have makes and females, Escher will be all female and Cawdor all male.

If one gang's going to be all male, it should be Goliaths. They were always supposed to be sexist.

I'd have liked female Cawdor, but perhaps they didn't want 'nuns with guns' (especially with Sisters of Battle on the horizon).

I normally roll my eyes and shake my head when people go on about 'muh gender representation' but I'll gladly say the following.

  1. I do not want creepy trash hobo ladies, because I had one run up to my truck a few years ago and yank her shirt up and lick my forehead.
  2. I think not making female Orlocks was a missed opportunity, because biker chick.
  3. Van Saar 'female' head looks more like a young male.

Both Goliath and Orlock have buffed gorilla arm, so those female model are unable to use any of their gang's kit arm, unless FW make an entirely upgrade kit just for them.

Not sold on the Cawdor art, and would have preferred the more classical look in plastic. I thought they would be a 'must have' kit for Necromunda, but it may be similar to the Van Saar; conversion fodder or useful for other things.

Orlock and Goliath ladies confirmed gives me hope of extra body and head variants across the board, especially for Escher. Three Orlock girls in development is interesting; not that much of a stretch to make five, which could double sprue up as a new kit. Should give some head options, at least.

Still sworn off GW; #3 was tempting, but with the amount of house ruling being done, inconsistencies in the texts and lack of incentive for formalized, event play ('official', not Yak-related), I don't really feel the need for them.

This is the most expensive boxed game ever made by GW and will retail at about £150 so if you are planning to buy 5 then you likely could afford the existing titans :)

I believe sold separately the Warlord is going to be £50. They aren’t cheap. They will also need resin upgrades to change the weapons.

The Reaver comes with a few weapon options and will be released a month after the main game.

New Stop talking about Titans! Talk about Cawdors! :ROFLMAO:

Dem tiny Knights tho...

Whenever a new big set comes out that I want, I buy a few of them and split them up to sell on eBay. My hobby costs me nothing that way and the wife doesn't poke her pretty little nose into how much I am spending.

Also, I would never have a use for a 40k scale Titan beyond a display piece whereas a bunch of tiny Titans will hopefully be much fun to play with.

whereas a bunch of Tiny's Titans will hopefully be much fun to play with.

Fixed that for ya.

I'm a bit worried about the cost of the box set though... if it reaches triple figures it'll likely see me having to give it a pass. That's alot to justify.

Cawdor though... show me the cawdor!!!!
