Cawdor/GW4 Speculations/Discussions

I'm a bit worried about the cost of the box set though... if it reaches triple figures it'll likely see me having to give it a pass. That's alot to justify.

Apparently there will be a "Grand Master Edition" which has 2 armies of Titans and a load of plastic buildings and objectives etc and that will be the most expensive starter set GW has ever made. Definitely triple digits. There will also be other ways to get into it like just a rules pack and separate minis. Guessing they will make a 2 player set with just the Titans and no terrain eventually.

Well I'm not in a hurry. I got a large amount of hive scum and bounty hunters un-opened. Just finished the 10 basic Orlocks. 10 Goliaths were done a while back. Still need to do Escher. And the 2nd pack of Escher and Goliath with new weapons. And then Van Saar. Right now I've started on genestealer cults... And haven't touched Blood Bowl since goblins last year!

Doubt it. We'd heard about GSC, Chaos Cult, and Bounty Hunters some time ago. I don't think any others have been mentioned.

They'll probably show the models at the uk games expo early june or the actual open day later on. I'd expect rules for those rats n bomb rats in the upcoming gang war. Hopefully they pack more lore of the setting into this book, like a map of the planet and hive city layout. Pay more attention to the setting, the books have been lacking in that regard.

I think adeptus titanicus is due out in August so I would expect simultaneous releases....

(My wallet hopes they are not separated by only one month aswell)

Look more like a Sep/October release, consider they didn't have the model or trailer to show at warhammer fest and said you have to wait "a little longer"

You have things that get label "coming soon" like the Van Saar or Dark Elf blood bowl, which have a trailer, HQ pic of the models, and would expect a 1-2 months after release window.

15th July is the next forge world / specialist games open day. Can't seem them being released for that so I would guess September....

I really hope the psyker/wyrd rules appear in gw4. And I hope they allow for fighters to develop into wyrds, or allow Leaders to start with wyrd powers. I can’t remeber which Necro novel has the Cawdor wyrd pyro gang leader, I think it might be Salvation, but it’s awesome and would be a great addition! Perhaps your gang leader is super charismatic (but is actually influencing people’s minds and can make enemies shoot each other or walk off ledges!), or perhaps they can appear to move faster than the eye can see (they actually slow time down and can dodge bullets and make double moves as a basic action), or shoot flame from their hands or summon zombies etc etc.
This would also be a good time to further flesh out the outlaw mechanics introduced in GW3, where wyrds can be reported and made outlaw, with guilder gangs perhaps subsidising part of the costs for bounty hunters etc to hunt the offending gangs and capture the witch! Would add some awesome flavour to campaigns!

'Twould be nice to have psychers introduced in the next book but I do find it more likely that they will come along with Delaque rather than Cawdor. It would likely mean the introduction of spook to the trading post and possibly some other drugs as there are quite few currently. I am fairly sure that spook will only become available when those who are supposed to use and abuse it the most are properly in play.
We can but hope. I certainly wouldn't mind getting psychers earlier than expected. (y)
