Cawdor/GW4 Speculations/Discussions

I really like how these turned out, will get a box or two. Hopefully the resin upgrades include a lasgun, flamer, stubber, shotgun, etc.

They look like medieval cultists to me. I mean they really aren't too different from the old models aside from a lack of hoods. They are just more detailed and realistic. Hoods should be saved for the redemptionists anyway. The only complaint I might have is that the polearm/weird weapons might take up a lot of sprue space, and they look delicate and easy to snap if they were to suffer a fall or something.

It's a Combi gallow and executioner axe

Also the leader is holding a Hand Flamer.

I’m very pleased with these, close enough to match in with the old metals I think. Certainly with the same paintjob.

I’m verrrrrry pleased to see H2H Weapon options here, something they sorely missed last time out!! Some of my favourite types of improvised weapons here too.

Love the ball and chain, the molatov cocktails, the circular saw axe and the crossbow. (y) Maybe I can even use that crossbow I added onto an old ganger for fun now!!

I imagine these will prove to be stupidly popular; possibly more than any gang box so far. Given what I’ve seen online from people wanting to use them everywhere (hopefully someone will use them as Cawdor other than me!!)

Hope there’s enough boxes to go around !

Massive conversion potential. I'm not a fan of the completely jerry-rigged pole weapons as shown, and hope there will be some more conventional arms, but it does leave a broad license for scratchbuilds, which is wonderful. This is going to be an insanely useful kit.

I’m really enjoying these guys. I think two boxes, with a lot of fun building and painting them.

Big fan of the van Saar models, but didn’t like building them (or the Goliaths for that matter). I felt the sprue dictated the list a little too much. Hopefully these won’t havr the same issue.

The Van Saar are a bit ott in building. Fiddly and lots of bits but not anything too hard but I can see why people are annoyed by the kit.

The Goliaths kit those is very simple to build and I don’t see why anyone would find them hard short of not knowing the trick with the cigar. Now, they aren’t that flexible with the weapon options (not enough pistol arms (though the FW kits help that) for example) but they are simple to build. Orlocks were even simpler though.

Escher were a bit more fiddly but far more flexible and easy enough to do.

Cawdor look like they will be simple to build.

I have an urge to give them leftover heads and arms from the GSC Neophyte kit and make brood brothers.

It’s the Goliath style restrictions i’m Worried about. Where there’s not enough weapons to make, what should be, simple builds. I didn’t have that issue with Escher or Orlock, but I did with Goliaths and Van Saar. The former seemed to build themselves, whereas the latter left me with one armed models, or load outs I didn’t want to use but had to because there weren’t enough left arms.

Would be interesting to see an entire gang armed with Versatile weapons. And yeah, the “rustodes” pseudo-guardian spear epithet really works. Enough that I wanna paint them in rusty brass and dark red-browns…
