Well if those dark angels don't protect the farm, whoes gonna?!

Great stuff mate, glad to see you are starting her young! have a full on gaming nemesis in no time!

I insist you spend the next 3 weeks reading your way through the modelling threads as penance!

I'm about a week and a half in my penance quest, there is a lot of great stuff out there. I also have realized how much of an inspiration @King Redwart's Betteries not Included pit slave posts have been.

They look great and atleast in my opinion are as good as any of my pit slaves :)

Wow, thanks I take that as a supreme compliment.

Yeah that's the goal, my wife isn't so much into games so I have to raise a horde to play with.

Hey dude. I’m flattered that Batteries Not Included have been an inspiration. They were my first real foray into a kitbashed gang and I really need to get them finished. Keep up the good work (y)

Solid effort on getting the kids involved. Maybe your daughter will be able to give me some painting tips. She’s already painted more than I have in the past few years :p.

So I would now like to present why I do not yet have ANY of the new Necromunda Underhive stuff:

Those are the Horus Heresy Emperor's Children from Forge World I bought specifically to assemble and paint with my daughter. The purchase: Summer 2017 right before the new Necromunda Underhive boxed game was announced. So I spent my limited free money buying 1000 pts worth of EC 30k mini's that the Goose and I could paint purple and a few Death Guard Deathshroud (because they look so good!).

It will take me some time to save my free money up again, so I am waiting to see how all the new Gang War's and stuff play out. I already own Delaque, Orlock, Goliath, Van Saar, Scavvies, Ash Waste Nomads, (my new custom) Pit Slaves, and am almost finished an (inherited) Orc Band. Waiting may be good for me because I don't really need much in the way of mini's; just the new rules. Hopefully someday soon I can buy the rules in a collection or compendium, but no word on that from rumor-mongers yet.

The 30k mini's have been fun to paint so far! Here the goose and I are putting a layer of Xereus Purple on the basecoat. I am trying to follow TheApatheticFish, he makes it look quite easy and beautiful (a term only appropriate for the EC). It is fun working with purple! The first picture in this post shows what we have done so far: 3 primed and basecoated, 2 with the first color layer, and 3 more assembled.

We have a long way to go. I have to admit I find the work on the storm eagle intimidating? It's just a big box of pieces...

Anyway, I would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on the new Necromunda rules and mini's; especially those with large Necro collections already. Is it worth it for my quite limited free money?

In terms of models... I'd suggest picking up a gang if nothing else. the quality of models is amazing. I've not yet played a game but have heard a lot of good things about it.

All I will say though, is thats brave letting the wee one wear white while painting purple!
