N18 Collected Errors/Typos in N25 Bastions of Law (Enforcer)

that's the only one...

i assume:
-the captain has a more melee-based profile, a sniper rifle would feel a bit odd for this?
-the sergeants have cunning, so I think they're trying to push them more towards infiltrating template builds

i have the feeling bastions of law was a rewrite/optimalisation towards:
subjugators = melee, palanites = ranged, badzone = infiltrators

Based on a lot of previous examples, I always get the feeling that a change indicate a mistake in version 1. So I don't necessarily believe it is adjustments :p But it would be very good if the game has evolved to that level.

I sort of enjoyed that rules were such a mess of the original enforcers that the line between palanite and subjugator was fuzzy. The only real way to determine that used to be base size haha. It meant that you could ignore the official way to build the minis and instead mix what you wanted. Now GW successfully made restrictions to make them more WYSIWYG to the box contents.

'cough' optimalisationtalk 'cough',
but yes, further pushing the enforcers in their previously established roles

i do think they could have been 'a bit' gentler towards the badzone enforcers (equipment, scum & stats) but it is still possible to play with them.

Badzone Enforcer don't get vehicle crew. Is it implied to just use normal enforcer crew? Or are they simply not meant for ash wastes? In either case they could still use universal generic crew.

i assume they only get the generic ones,
but, I think it would also require a faq to confirm if they would get the sanctionner, venator, haunts and if they get strong imperial house allegiance

Rules are terribly unclear:

"In all other respects, including generating gang tactics, they are considered to be a Palanite Enforcer gang."

They don't get Prefectures, that's clear. They have their own pet (Hacked doggo). They can use Enforcer tactics. What makes sense is they can take the rest you mention as well, since there are no "hacked" alternatives. But it's not explicitly clear. And the same wording could potentially allow Hardcase doggo, although it is implicitly not included.

(separate from the vagaries of the RAW)

I feel it's a bit wishful thinking these would be allowed for badzone enforcers,
all of them sound like specialised assets requiring solid logistics and their skills/rules complement the regular enforcers better

That is what I'd expect from a third world gang. No gang-specific hangers-on (including brutes), pets, crew, vehicles, mounts or anything else. So they shouldn't inherit this from Enforcers, as shown by pets where they explicitly have the knock-off version. So what exactly does the vague "treated as normal Enforcers" mean? Clearly Tactics. Most likely resource rewards (territories ++). Scenarios (they are semi-open to be used freely anyway). Not sure if there's much else. Hired guns? I don't see why if they can't get hangers-on, pets and brutes.

(in bastions of law)

I agree with the gang tactics

some hired guns options (bounty hunters, hive scum, slopper, rogue doc, ...)
have the specific remark it's 'for all gangs' in their unit entry and I assume these can be taken by the badzone enforcers

the badzone enforcers have 2 territory boons already: narco den & gambling den
the palanite enforcers get 2 different territory boons: toll crossing & drinking hole

to be fair...
I hope(d) they would get a small statboost and limited gear acces (bolt pistol, maybe some hive scum stuff?), maybe a non crazy dog?
instead of access to all the enforcer gizmos

No doubt universal content is available to Badzone Enforcers, just like anybody else. I'm talking about the distinction of gang-specific. This gang, unlike all other gangs, have no unique gang-specific content. Only reused the universal (but Illegal) Hacked cyber-mastiff pet. You were right about the resources, forgot about that.

For content, have this impression of gang-specific content:
  • Pets: Hacked cyber-mastiff.
  • Tactics: use Enforcer ("treated as normal Enforcers")
  • Scenarios: Whatever, use Enforcer?
  • Terrain: None (Enforcer also got none)
  • Hangers-on (including Brutes): None
  • Hired guns (Hive scum / bounty hunters / agents): None
  • Crew / vehicles / mounts: None
They're worse off than Corpse Grinder Cult or even Ogryn gang!

i see the 'for any gangs tags' as also applying to the badzone enforcers:
  • Pets: Hacked cyber-mastiff.
  • Tactics: use Enforcer ("treated as normal Enforcers")
  • Scenarios: Whatever, use Enforcer?
  • Terrain: None (Enforcer also got none)
  • Hangers-on (including Brutes): slopper, rogue doc, ammo-jack, gang lookout, dome runner, ambot, servitor ogryn*
  • Hired guns (Hive scum / bounty hunters / agents): all*
  • alliances: all lawful, no strong alliances
  • Crew / vehicles / mounts: only generic vehicles, hauliers*

    * as their unit descriptions have the added note: available to any gangs or have no noted restrictions
They could've been a bit clearer for the badzone boys :cautious:

Yeah universal is universal. I'm talking about gang-specific! That applies to all gangs anyway. All other gangs got at least some gang-specific stuff. This is the only gang that got virtually none.

For example Corpse Grinder Cult don't have much to show for, but they got hired guns special characters. They got their own tacitcs. Even Ogryns have gang-specific hired guns. Most other gangs got unique agents, terrain or pets.

true, maybe the Ashwood stranger would get an update at some point, or they might slip in a few extra tactics in an upcoming update?

the escape from z... ? yes, they're not included
i suppose those could still be used as optional rules?

Nothing has invalidated them. It is indeed strange not to include it here. Perhaps they were too experimental. They had some serious flaws.

Damn it! I like them. I didn't had the time to read the book after I finally got mine because I went straight to the photocopy shop to have it scanned. I have an issues with rules book I refuse to open them where the environment is unsafe. That's why I did this. The like of epub really piss me off but back to the topic I did had the time to read index.

After hall of the ancients and tribe of the Westland this looks like a different team wrote it. A team without time or experience. So much is missing or half baked.

some parts do feel rushed (self contradicting lore, copy paste errors, the double fearsome haunts), but other parts are sensibly worked out.
maybe halfway through they let an AI write the remainder? :D
