N18 Collected Errors/Typos in the N21 Rulebook (Hive War)

That’s a bit annoying but not the end of it all! I think HoC mentions seismic on one DP but it’s not included in the book.
Obviously you can find it elsewhere but it’d be nice if something was mentioned in a book it was also included so you don’t have to play librarian mid-way in a game.

HoC is different because it is an add-on. It relies on other books, for example main rule books. Hive War rulebook is different because it is standalone and doesn't reference any other books. It's supposed to be self-contained.

There's a scenario in which attackers are trying to defile the defenders' relic that mentions losing the Cool and Leadership bonuses after it's defiled but it doesn't state what those bonuses are before it's defiled.
(Hardback rulebook had a similar 'Sneak Attack' scenario in which it was +2 if within 6", but that was specific to one scenario and hasn't been carried over to generic scenario special rules in more recent books from what I can see. I'm failing to find generic Gang Relic rules outside of that scenario, even though the Escher Chymist Cult Relic is said to follow the generic rules, only losing those when defiled and retaining it's own unique rules.)

Yes, it is an error because this is intended to be standalone. For the generic rules, those should be available somewhere or inferred from wherever they are detailed. As far as I can remember there has never been inconsistencies for the generic/universal gang relic rules. Probably printed and reprinted several times in N17-N18, then slowly faded away and now only rarely referenced.

So "...Click" only applying to Shoot (Basic) actions is very strange to me. This makes most heavy weapons immune, but not if they have a suspensor. Clearly this is not the intent. "...Click" is one of the most impactful cards in my experience, but it serves a purpose in stopping a single heavy bolter or plasma cannon from dominating the whole game.
Did we ever determine if this was intentional to deny heavy weapons to be clicked?

But it could if you paid extra to have them more manoeuvrable?

An oversight on their part? Or did they just do the usual cockup copy+paste error.

As you can still buy this card in the Hive War box it would be nice to know. But I guess RAW it doesn’t unsuspended weapons…

…might check to see if it was updated in the N23 universal tactics list.

Yeah unless explicitly specified, the type of action can be ignored. Which begs the question why even mention it, but that's a different topic.

This is how GW writes it: Shoot (Basic) action.
This is how I'd write it: Shoot action.
This is what it means: Shoot (Free/Simple/Basic/Double) action.

While I’m here, your table on post 1 says no change to A Good Day - there appears to be a change on it.

N17 left -N21 right.

I don’t think I’ve ever used this card but I’m wondering if it was always a cockup and they meant to apply it to your own fighters, not the opponent as suggested in N17. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If anyone’s wondering I got a sealed deck of these today (along with a load of other stuff) and was interested in the updated cards.

EDIT: Interestingly in the universal Tactics in the N23 Core book it reuses the principle from the N17 card except it’s -2 rather than +2 and they’ve retitled the card “Have A Bad Day”.

So who knows what the hell they’re doing.

Haha don't remember that card being mentioned before. The original is so dumb my eyes must have auto-corrected it every time I read it. Could likely be a copy-paste error from Having A Bad Day, which has (or should have) the same effect but negative modifier for enemy. Perhaps compare that too, as it might in fact give a negative modifier to friendlies instead

Thanks to @BranBuccarcher I noticed another update in this book:
CHANGING FACING
When a Standing fighter is activated, they may turn to face any direction their controlling player wishes, before making either of their actions. Changing facing in this way does not count as moving.
-p 36
This has been consistently reprinted in N22 and N23 (didn't check later rulebooks).
