Got the bits for two statues- one will be a guilder, the other some sort of Space Marine "hero"
Ah man this is killer! I've never considered painting an oxidized copper look. How hard was it? Looks fantasticAwwww, I already made one for the Godly Erection competition.
Didn’t manage to get it finished in time for that one but have finished it before this one! Typical.
Anyway here it is:
For your inspiration fellow Yaks.
Not very, it’s as time consuming as you make it!Ah man this is killer! I've never considered painting an oxidized copper look. How hard was it? Looks fantastic
Using spare sprues for bricks!? I just learned about this yesterday- what tool do you reccomend using to divide up the sprues with nice even cuts? If I use my usual cutters they're gonna be pretty rough so I haven't cut any yet. Not sure if the plastic is quite soft enough for an exacto either..Basic materials for the brick wall image portion of the shrine. We'll see how this ends up.
Bricks in my pic are foam board bricks. If I were going to try using sprue for bricks I'd try a pair of heavy duty straight nail clippers. If they can be used to trim off metal mini slotta base tabs then they might cut off sprue neatly. Good luck if you try it.Using spare sprues for bricks!? Nice!I've been posting updates on my plog, but here's something that might pass as a finished entry (though I may still do a bit more work on it)...

Could do with some moss I think, maybe right the bottom of the base and a light stipple or wash of green in a few of the cracks on the model itself?
If you do it with oils and you hate it you can always roll the effect back or remove it altogether!Yeah, a bit of green is the kind of thing I was thinking of, if I decide to do any more.
