Not very, it’s as time consuming as you make it!
Here’s a rough idea of my process:
- Paint the base model a flat brown
- Stipple on a mix of Turquoise and Mid Green (eyeball the colour)
- Stipple on the above but desaturated with a light Grey (45° angle from top)
- Wash any exposed brown areas with a black wash
- Use another clean brush to streak some black wash down over painted areas
- Mix up more of that Tur+Green+L Grey Mix with more grey and stipple that on top and exposed areas
- Use nihilakh oxide to streak or sit in select grooves (lighten with a pale grey or white if it’s not light enough)
I wouldn’t use any actual metallic bronze or brass paint unless the object is at a height where it can be touched or rubbed against to expose the untarnished metal.
Always check against actual statues etc to see how water streaks on them.

This one above shows why the black wash is a useful step. Also the 45° from top weathering.
Note the dark streaks over the verdigris on its right hand.
There are other ways (probably as many as there are painters!)
A quick way would be to spray brown, then slap on a load of dirty down verdigris paint. Doesn’t always look right though.
