I've decided to go with a Quadbike for the race, this was quite nice to build.

Opted for a heavy stuber and an autopistol, because firing an Uzi from a moving quadbike fulfills rule of cool requirements.

I've been carving in some damage, there'll be some classic bullet holes when I find my pin vice drill.

Sponsored by HORG GUNS AND AMMO of course.

I've made only miniscule progress on mine. I picked a bad week to be ill. 🤮:(

Been feeling better this evening. So I've managed to get the build finished. Gone a bit simpler than my original plans due to time constraints:

Some progress.

I don't know if it's the camera on my new phone or whatever the pigment in the red paint is, but it pops far more in the pictures than it does in real life. Quite annoying as it's far more dull and weathered on the actual model. You can't make out the highlights or much of the shading in the pics, bit it's there to the naked eye 🤔

It could be the angle? The front is closer to the camera, and that’s the part that pops. The rear of the bike is more subdued and the wash is visible back there. But it’s also visible on the yellow and the green hubcaps….

I have worked out my new phone camera is doing "helpful" AI/Automatic Photoshop things to photos (I.e. "maKe iT thOOpur COntRAstY aNd bRigHt cUz BrIGhT iZ BeTtuR"*). I have fiddled with settings and recited the Canticle for Admonishing the Abominable Intelligence (fourth verse is always a doozie), then played a bit with contrast afterwards. The results are a bit better but it's a faff. Anyone remember when technology just did the thing and didn't try to "improve" it for you? Stooferidge Farm remembers.

Anyway, my Comp 56 Badlands Racer entry:
Bedecked in his cobbled together hazmat suit to help survive the wasteland, he prepares to start as he means to go on - in a hail of gunfire.

(*It seems to be affecting reds and pinks - I wonder if it's thinking it might be skin so it's smoothing it and removing blemishes automatically, so you look more beat face for the insta likes. Not so helpful if the thing is meant to look rough and stained.)

Base colours done on the monster.
I was hoping to get it done in time for FYSC, but that seems unlikely. Next month!
For our Gaslands enthusiasts, it's going to be a Slime sponsored vehicle, so I'm thinking a bright green and yellow racing stripe, with some slimy waviness in there.
