I'm hoping to use my Frostgrave/Wargames Atlantic sprues to make a Halfling Scout or Warlock for Mordheim. Something for Necromunda too, if there's time.

Mordheim presents a lot of interesting angles. I was just looking through the very extensive hired swords list, it’s got so much more than original necromunda ever had. I’m going to check if the bits box can rustle up an old prospector, bounty hunter, big game hunter or warlock.

I did some hirelings a couple of months back, but I'm sure I can find something else to add to my Mordheim or Necromunda gangs. Got a Sartosa Mordheim campaign happening in a few months so can probably make something suitable for that.

Work has begun although I am already feeling like I'm behind and may be attempting too much.

The plan is to do a fortified Mercenaries Guild Headquarters building. I am still finalising the design at the moment, especially the size of the keep that wil be the HQ as I'm having trouble deciding on the floor plan.

Option one:

This was my original idea with a 6" x 6" interior floor area with three floors, the main floor with a 2nd floor entry, a basement and an upstairs room for training etc.

However after laying it out I felt it looked a bit small and might be a bit crowded once I've added a counter and some furniture so I have played with my original design.

Option two:

This is obviously 9" x 6", probably still with the 2nd floor entry and a basement which would have the training equipment. I'm really struggling to decide which to go for.

Edit: I've just realised that somehow I've managed to mirror the 2nd photo when rotating it. Oops.

I don't know whether I'll finish an entry, but I've at least started one.

I already have several hired guns, but one thing I don't think I've got is a wyrd. Sure, I could probably use a Frostgrave wizard or something, but I figured this was an excuse to make a dedicated model.

Progress, if there is any, over on my plog.

Are hangers on considered Hired Guns? I'm thinking maybe a dome runner or gang lookout. I don't play N7+ and things like those don't exist in ORB, so i'm not sure where they fall in the lore or for this contest. I suppose I could do a themed hired gun, using leftover bits from gangs i don't play. Like Delaque...

ok...

To the bits box!!!

I'd say a hanger-on is fine.

I still can't find my two remaining sprues of N17 scum. I couldn't find them for the Hot Hot Hot competition either and I've been through my stuff since then... They seem to have wandered off.

I'm going to have to go and dig through my boxes of random miniatures and see if something inspires me.

I’m sure the general competition rules is that you can make stuff for any system, so you could make it for another if you fancy.

Likewise, depends on how much you play what games - if it’s barely ever you might just want to make a model for the fun of it or just use creativity as to how you could use a model in a future game, e.g. you could make a Slopper (cook) model and use him as stand-in for the Water Still in an NCE game.

Make up stories and all that. 😁

If in doubt, let the votes decide. I like that delaque. The head makes it look like an eager who works for a delaque so wears the clothes to fit in and show their loyalty, or a rudimentary disguise

Some cool ideas coming together already - I think this might be a big and competitive field!

I decided to go with a Mordheim bounty hunter, taking the opportunity to put together a grizzled old warrior laden down by equipment (they come with sword, lantern, crossbow, pistol, rope and dagger). Like @Lyndon I totally forgot to take any photos before making a little progress, but this is hopefully an early enough WIP that it will count.

I've alighted on using one of the Warcry hunters as a base but he'll be receiving a lot of modification, starting with what you can see going on here - a reposed left arm, and consequent slight remodelling of the cloak to flow around it.

I think I have decided. My cavalier is going to be an eldar aristocrat pirate. Not a clue how he will work rules-wise but definitely a 40k thing and lore-wise is a mercenary for hire. I will let the votes decide if that counts.

The clone will wait for a future comp.
I love me some Eldar pirates.
