The grimace of a man whose reputation is braver than his reality.

My entry - Bertrand the Brigand, Hugo le Petit and Gui le Gros...

Are they part of your Anglo Saxons or a different warband? I'd be late to the party as per usual but your trio had me thinking maybe I needed to do a Sheriff of Nottingham force. Of course, given my default to bad wordplay (and a few comments in this thread) he could be the Sheriff of Naughtyham?

Walk THIS way!

I’ll pay for this! … I mean, you’ll pay for this!

Sooooo.... for the first time since way back in YakComp #42, back in 2022... I actually managed to finish an entry!!!

I don't have a great "final" image to submit (yet), but hope to make one over the weekend. In the meantime, here are some WiP shots:

And the (totally unplaytested) character sheet / rules I put together for this one!

Silas Vexx - Genestealer Cult Bounty hunter
I'll fully admit that I've lost sight of the details when it comes to rules these days - I'm sure there are a few things in that PDF that could be easily simplified by referencing existing keywords and rules etc.

Mostly I just wanted to write a story and background about the character ;)

Hope you guys like it! Will post a "clean" final entry shot soon!

Been quite busy so haven't done much this month but I needed a Ran Lo Auditing Conclave for my current Necro gang and that fits the bill for this comp (I think).

Cobbled this pair together after a quick rummage in the bits box today. Need a little tidying and further details but it's a start.

Brilliant entries coming in. A little hard to tell from the photos but that looks like a difficult and very well carried off genestealer sniper kitbash and loving the finish on gotrek and Felix.

For me things have spiralled. While I was building the new base, big enough for the witch hunters and his hound, I started to realise - a multibased figure won’t be useful for an actual game, so if I’m going to multibase, why limit myself to a gaming base? Cue my first attempt at a display vignette.

This is a quick mockup to test the scene, and what will hopefully work as the actual display base - varnished and with a contoured top that I can start to build paving and walls on.

Ahh I thought we had another week! Alas, no.

You have 2 and a half days! I have a busy weekend so I think my battlesmurfs will have to wait.

My official entry :

Captain Ha'Rok Jericho, the Byrd and Noosika

Outcast among the outcasts, feared by all on the Sump seas, Ha'Rock is an underworldpirate whose sole name is enough to create fear within the hearts ofthe most hardened fighters. Sailing the toxic waters aboard his Atlantis ship, donning the Jolly Roger flag of prehistoric Earth buccaneers, Captain Ha'Rok and his crew are pursuing a dream only known by them. Some say he's chasing the Mother Spider, the biggest of all sea spiders, whose eye gems would buy a planet, while others tell a strange story about a mythical free world he would build within the very foundations of the primus hive, before toppling its corrupted noble houses and reigning dynasty. One thing is sure : few are those who have seen the Atlantis and are still alive to tell it, be they House corsairs, Guilders sailors or Enforcers speedboats crews. Merciful only to his fellow pirates, Captain Ha'Rok Jericho is known as a skilled fighter when it comes to boarding situations and close combat, using his Cosmo Dragoon lasgun or his gravity saber with deadly accuracy. Even the members of his crew don't know much about his personal history and about his last name. Many storytellers, especially among his foes or victims, will say that he is just a renegade and a fraud, trying to use someone else's fame. However, if blind enough, some old drinking holes patrons ofthe sea shores will tell you about him being a secret twin of the famous bounty hunter Kal Jericho, hidden at birth by his mother, Inquisitor Heleana. She would have liked to use him as a safeguard against governor Gerontius, and raised him as a planetary space force cadet, but the rebellious young pilot hijacked his frigate ship and landed it into the ash wasteland. He would then have disappeared into the Sump seas, using the main components of his former ship to build his famous Atlantis.

Ha'Rok has often be seen with a weird dark mutant being on his shoulder, known as « The Byrd ». Its origin is as enigmatic as its master's, but most say it comes from an exoplanet where flying animals still exist, and was kept aboard the cadet frigate ship as a mascot. Producing sharp cakling sounds, it seems to be used by the captain as a lookout and an alarm when sailing the foggy and dark waters of the underworld.

Almost always in the trail of the captain is Noosika, an orphan blond female pirate. Main helmsman of the Atlantis, she seem to be in love with him, even if he sometimes look like he couldn't care less about her. Stubborn and dedicated to her captain, Noosika will follow himeverywhere and many have found out that she can be a ferocious fighter as well when needed, wielding her chainsaw sword with gory effects.

…OR DOES IT?

Nothing like a deadline to boost your motivation. Using plasticard, styrene foam, plaster filler and a few bits and odds and ends I have taken the build to a finished state today. I might even get the black priming done.

That still leaves but a slim chance of completion on time, but a chance nevertheless!

I might've also thought I had more time... Quickly finished the build today, and primed it in the stable (because there's about a foot of snow and some chilling winds here at the moment).
That leaves a day for a quick coat of paint. I might have an easier time than @Fold, no elaborate base. Godspeed, @Fold!
