The chosen topic for Comp 63 is Pre-Loved Projects
We’ve all got that one project we just can’t let go of.
Maybe it’s an old competition entry that’s crying out for a rebuild. Maybe it’s a battered 2nd Edition metal mini that deserves a modern glow-up using newer kits. Perhaps it’s an ancient gang that’s seen more campaigns than you can remember, or a terrain piece that’s earned another lease on life.
The challenge is simple: take a pre-loved project and give it a new chapter.
It can be restored, reimagined, expanded, or completely rebuilt—as long as its previous life is part of the story.
Bonus Yakpoints: Share why this project means so much to you. Tell us about the games it survived, the campaigns it starred in, the ridiculous dice rolls, or the memories attached to it. The hobby is about more than plastic and paint, and we’d love to hear the stories behind your pre-loved projects.
Rules clarification - This competition breaks a longstanding YakComp rule and it has special dispensation to do so. For Comp 63 you are allowed to use a previous project (whether finished or not) rather than make entirely anew. If you want to remake a project entirely from scratch you can, but make sure you base it thematically on the old one.
Please post pictures of the old project as well for posterity/starting point. If it's long gone and you're remaking, give us a description of it and the history behind it.
Competition runs for 6 weeks, ending on Sunday 13th September (as usual, really Monday 14th September when I wake up and close it).
Have fun!

Break over, back to work!
@Fold, @Casus and @MedMos as 1st 2nd and 3rd plus @Punktaku as quickest are hereby beckoned to submit themes for Comp 62.
We have some early submissions due to planning and stuff:
@Casus has submitted:
Overbuilt & Under-Tested
Some problems require ingenuity. Others require an extra engine, three more gun barrels, an improvised plasma reactor - and a complete disregard for the manufacturer’s warnings! Build a character, vehicle, machine, terrain piece or small scene displaying reckless and excessive over-engineering. An over-armed or augmented fighter, a vehicle that prioritizes power over steering, a garage-built scrap war machine or an unnecessarily complex contraption... It doesn't need to be large, but its creator’s complete lack of restraint should be prominent. Add more power, more armour, more moving parts and some features that no responsible engineer would have approved - What could possibly go wrong?
@Fold has sumbitted:
Pre-Loved Projects/refurbished
