Only 13 years between building him and painting him. One year for every black crusade.

-badzone enforcers (minor sculpting and paint left to do)
-working on a pitslave test model based on GW goremongers and house bharteth snippy bits

mordheim:
-ostermarkers: handsculpted farmer weapons - awaiting shipment of 3D printed bits and a German tin figure book
+ a freelance knight / ogre

How’s everyone getting on?

No pictures but I’ve been closing in on completion. I’m on team numbers and washes.

I’m making life extra difficult with the team numbers as want the team to have NFL style two digit numbers, this generally means splicing two separately cut numbers together. And I want to layer the black outline version on top of the solid white one for extra pop - so each number is usually four separate decals. And each players number appears on their backs and shoulder pad.

I’ve been watching YouTube videos featuring oil washes for a long time and always meant to try it, and now I have - and it’s fantastic. So much more control over how it behaves and very forgiving in case of mistakes. I can see it becoming the default paint method.

I transformed/resculpted part off the freebee goremonger in a pitslave,
but I have my doubts about the head and pistol. I'm overall quite pleased and i will post pics later

I am awaiting two things;

1) The humidity to drop enough I can get some varnishing done to knock back the gloss effect that's ended up happening on the cloaks.

2) Whatever illness has befallen me this past week to pass so I can darn well actually get out with the spray cans when it does happen.

Hopefully soon then I can put pics up and close the loop on my entry

I’m not saying I won’t get my overly ambitious mega vehicle done in time, but I’m starting a second (far less ambitious) entry just in case!:

Who doesn’t love chopping up completely
irreplaceable minis to make a bizarre kitbash?

So I guess iv promoted a chainsword wielding nob with a suit of looted terminator armour, and he in turn has bestowed his chainsword and a random auto gun to his next in command!?

Same as some of our fellow yaks, I too have been sick and busy with life in general, so progress has been very slow indeed. I pondered for a long time if I should strip the old metals (again!), but I already did the bases, they were stripped before last iteration and the paint is not laid on thick at all. So I decided to use the existing paint as primer of a sort, and paint over that. With the scheme I have in mind for them it should be fine.
This is after a heavy overbrush of bone white, a drybrush of white and a wash/contrast paint of some purple persuasion or other.
I changed the background in my light box to black, to better show the white minis, but it's hard to fit them all within the black...
As per usual, I'm down to the last couple of days. I need better time management skills...

Meet Nork Deddog.

A much younger Clockwork converted him back in 1994 or ’95, using an Ogryn body and a Mordian Iron Guard Captain’s hat. Pure heresy, chopping up those lovely old metal models!

He vanished into the dark ages for years, eventually turning up (minus the stolen hat) in a box of models recovered from my nephew about five years ago. I found him a new officer’s hat, slapped a white undercoat on him… and then left him sitting like that until very recently, when the motivation suddenly hit.

“Dogged” means stubbornly determined and persistent — a perfect description of this project that has been 32!? years in the making. It’s also nearly an anagram of Deddog. Anyhow now he’s finished, finally 😂

WIP photos are on my PLOG. It feels good to be back.

Not sure how popular this will be with the troll, but I've taken a perfectly good Orlock from N95 and attempted some emergency surgery.

That's one small snip for man...

...and one large fist for plastickind.

My entry, the first gang I bought finally finished!
The story? My friends and I bought Necromunda back in the late '90s. There were 5 of us and only two gangs in the box, so three of us went out and bought our own gangs. Two of us went to a book store in a local mall, with a very limited selection. I settled on Van Saar, even though I really wanted Delaque, but the third friend already bought those... I painted them up in the classic green, but they've been stripped and repainted at least three times since. Realising that I'm no 'eavy metal painter (far from it!), I wanted to try something different with them. And this is the result, almost 30 years later I'm calling them done!

For reference, this is how they looked prior to and during this process. The first picture is pretty similar to how they looked at first, though probably a little more neat... The second picture is the wip base coat.

Rounding off, they've been played in numerous campaigns, and the three of us that went out and got gangs way back then, picked Necromunda up again over the last decade, and are planning to play next month.
