Hi, I am in a financial crunch and considering selling off some of my 80's-90s RPG and novel collection. Is this a good place to ask around? I can put stuff on eBay but it will take effort and maybe cost more to put everything on as single options. Some of this stuff is valued at close to $100 but most of it is more obscure or just a beat up vintage magazine. I also wanted to give Yaks first crack at it since it's important to me this rare material finds its way into good hands of someone that will appreciate it. I don't like the idea of my collection being resold and shipped around over and over only to end up tossed out or forgotten about. Some of these are small press and / or decades old and not easy to find.

I know a list would make sense but it will take some time to locate and catalog everything.

I'm also up for some commission work such as writing / editing, character art, or custom builds and paintjobs for character models, small squads, and monsters. I don't have the inclination to paint a full army but I do have 30 years of hobby experience.

Trades might be considered but I could use some cash honestly.

Thanks.

A list, given the only person who knows what you're actually selling is you, would be helpful; worthwhile people are happy to wait for a list.

Giving a general location (UK, US etc) might also help, as shipping costs can be a factor.

Are you sure you want to sell off an old collection? If you are then I think you might want to look for auctions selling toy trains and the like and email the organisers to ask if they can direct you to the best market. I have the feeling that here you would be selling things at a buddy rate.

I have no expertise so I can't really advise you.

But looking at your photos I would say that you really excel at terrain with the grundy look. If you are looking at making a long term income then maybe calculate the cost of making terrain. I here facebook has exploded for small time marketing.

I know what you mean. I have a bunch of nostalgic D&D/AD&D stuff that is cool but really has no value due its age and use. While I'm not selling yet (still collecting on whim, actually) I've thought maybe if I were to bundle sets together it mind find its way onto a loving home.

You might kinda just list out the types of stuff instead of each piece individually and interested parties could inquire from there.

Like say:
AD&D 2nd edition rulebooks
Dragon Magazines, 80's
Dungeon Magazines, 80s-early 90s
Necromunda first edition rulebooks
and whatnot

I've been looking for the old Warhammer RPG book and the old Slaves to Chaos books but the only ones I've see listed are pretty nice and carry a premium price. Never could have imagined they'd be collector's pieces when I was a kid but I guess that goes for a lot of things.

@rustedchrome Thanks. That would be the start of my actual list if I was selling everything but the more popular stuff is also what I want to keep the most. For example, Slaves to Darkness, 1 of the 2 with Khorne and Slaanesh, is one of my top gems in my collection and I don't think I would ever part with that one. I foound a downlaodable PDF just now, at PDF Coffee that actually downloaded, not including a link though in case that would be against a rule. I would sooner sell Rogue Trader than that one in hardbound. Both of those books are pivotal to my creative inspiration foundation.

I think ebay would probably be the best place for some of the obscure stuff after all since it can be searched by name. But the pricing would be hard in an absolute vacuum for manuals from forgotten games. I can set a minimum and keep trying if need be. I would not be surprised if a few of my materials are literally last unique surviving copies at this point due to how small a print run some were from an indy press. The bulk of the collection is White Dwarf, Dragon, Dungeon, then the RPGs.

Thanks for bearing with me everybody, it's a tough decision. I did mannage to land a job but it doesn't start right away. I still have this vision of a classic RPG library as part of the camp / home I want to build. For now I will hold onto my stuff until I can inventory it at t least. Right now Habzone Quandary terrain is in the way anyways.
