Dark City: Embervein Delvers - Dwarf warband for Mordheim

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a project I’m currently working on. My name is Mario, and I’m the independent sculptor behind Apache Studio. For some time now I’ve been creating miniatures for 3D printing, mostly focused on dark fantasy and classic wargaming.

My next project is called Dark City: Embervein Delvers, and it is designed as a dwarf warband for dark fantasy skirmish games, especially systems with a strong narrative component such as Mordheim, Age of Fantasy Skirmish by OPR, and similar games. The idea is to offer a modular dwarf warband with different equipment options, weapons and accessories, so each miniature can be assembled with a lot of personality. I think that kind of customization fits really well with campaign-based skirmish games, where every warrior ends up having their own little story.

What do you think of the warband? I didn’t just sculpt it; I also painted the miniatures myself for the campaign’s promotional image

The project will be released in digital format, with STL files for 3D printing, but this time I’m also preparing a physical pledge for those who don’t own a printer, or simply prefer to receive the miniatures already printed in resin.

I honestly hope this post is not seen as spam. As an independent creator, it can be quite difficult to get visibility, especially for small projects like this. If you feel like taking a look at the project, activating the launch notification and/or helping spread the word in any way, it would mean a lot to me.

I am not a big fan of dwarves, I have to admit. But these are very nice! I like that you've put thought and effort into the modularity of the warband, I like options.

I am a fan of dwarves, probably because i look a bit like one (short, wide, bearded). I like the mix of these and the general aesthetic as well. I see melee fighters with two close combat weapons, a gunslinger with a pair of pistols, a spell-caster, a couple of tanks with shields, the obvious leader, and I like that the slayer has a bit of armor on him. Unfortunately, i don't have any sort of printer, so STL files aren't useful to me. Overall, i like the look and composition of this band. i imagine they'd be a viable alternative to GW's offerings.

And apologies for not replying sooner. As you can probably imagine, getting all the final details of the campaign ready has been quite a demanding task… xD

Regarding the lack of a printer, there is some good news: the campaign is now live and includes physical resin-printed pledges, precisely for people who like the miniatures but don’t own a 3D printer!

Thank you very much! I’m definitely far from being a professional painter, in my opinion, but I think I managed to achieve a striking overall look with the warband as a whole. I’m really glad you liked it!

No worries! I don’t know that creator, so the similarity is purely coincidental .




And to finish with a quick update: I launched the project yesterday, and it has already reached its funding goal — a very encouraging start!

I wouldn't make a habit of double-posting all adverts, but I don't think re-posting this one there would do any harm. The Mordheim forum isn't the busiest here, so some people may not have seen this.
