I've never tried Deadzone, but I know some people here play it. I noticed that Mantic currently have a sale on many of their digital rules and, in the case of Deadzone, they're reduced from £20 to nothing. Seems like a good time to take a look if you are interested.

Does anyone play this? I was checking it out on YouTube. Some rules I like because it simplifies things, like movement/measurements are based on how many squares in grid rather than inches or something. But not so impressed by constantly dicing off with so many.

How does it feel to play?

I gave ot a spin just three weeks ago.
And it's good, gameplay wise!

Really quick and easy, the concept of moving in cubes but still using actual model positions is very nice.

The dice mechanic is not very spectacular, but robust and works well.

It's not a game with enough depht to make me spend sleepless nights over listbuilding or strategies.
That's, depending in mood and preference, both a good and a bad thing.

It's perfect to play with younger folks or people new to tabletops.
Or for a relaxed, carefree round or two after a long day of work, even amongst more seasoned players.

The only thing I don't like is the models, but thats the case with 95% of mantic models for me.
Also, the factions are purposefully generic, so you can take any models you uave or like.
