We have played that it adds to all the range, but the first range measure is the most important.
Btw when you cast it , I think you roll the will power and then you measure and pick a valid target, first we played it like shotting pick target, measure, roll, but I think that was wrong.

The choir rule certainly reads as though it adds to all ranges.

I have always read it as needing the willpower test to be successfully rolled before measuring anything or declaring targets. If the psychic power needs a hit roll or other subsequent test then that would occur after you have declared the target and measured the distance.

Is a leader packing Overseer using it to push around a Piscean Spektor viable in a starting gang instead of taking a 2nd champion?

Technically you can’t start a gang with hangers-on (which brutes are a sub category of) so you will have a poor first game, but it would be a viable tactic.

The big Piscean Spektors are monsters in every way.

You could probably still sneak a champion of some description in anyway as your leader will be cheap and you can load up on cheap gangers.

Edit: here’s a quick knock up list to demonstrate what you can still get with a piscean Spektor in a starting gang (and it still looks decent).

Interesting, consider overwatch instead of faceless

Done a bit of retooling. No psykers. Two scary melee threats that will drop on the table turn to cause merry hell and a webber and a couple of smoke grenades to keep the more squishy block of 5 covered until the champs can get in.

So the test game with the gang went well. I went into Eschers and thanks to being able to drop the Nach-Ghuls behind the enemy I was able to quickly wipe out their Leader whilst my main body of spods held the centre and constantly failed to open objective chests.

The 2 Nacht-Ghuls is probably overkill for a startting campaign gang but I note that they seem to come in a little cheaper than a good gun toting equivalent so maybe they will stick around.

The web gun put in a lot of work and I think if I go for Delaque for the campaign I might try and build around that.
