"Answered by GW" means exactly that.

I was assuming so, but there are a number of things that might count as 'answered by GW'. Being in the rulebook means being answered by GW, but you separate that out.

I don't know if a facebook post is any more official than 'the redshirt in my local store said...' It's well known that shop staff don't always know the rules well. It's certainly not the same as an official FAQ/Errata release.

I have a question or two regarding ladders. When we played necromunda years back we always played that if you did not have enough movement to reach the top/bottom or a platform etc you could not climb it that turn (not sure if we were playing it right).

In SW:A it clearly says that you can finish your movement partway between levels (it says to put a mark on the ladder, and that you may need to hold the model back in place).

So, my Q's:
Can a model shoot from a ladder? (Under RAW I can see no reason why not)
Could a close combat happen on a ladder?
 
Probably a stupid question but I'll ask it as maybe it's in the main Rulebook- what's the cost of a special operative? I'm told you have to give up a Victory Point or a Prometheum Cache or something, and that apparently is expensive and therefore possibly not worth it, but is there also a points cost involved in each? There is nothing listed in the PDFs about how much for a Chaos Terminator vs. a Raptor, for example. Thanks!

There are no explicit rules about ladders except that they are open ground. The rule you're paraphrasing there is under "Wobbly Model Syndrome" and doesn't specifically mention ladders. I've been playing it that you can't end your movement on a ladder, however if you were to allow it, the answer to both your questions is yes RAW.

Yes, that's what I thought. The picture and caption on page 26 of the rule book show that "Wobbly Model Syndrome" applies to ladders too.
Just find it odd. I may house rule it that you can't stop mid way, I suppose it wasn't such in issue in Necromunda with 3" bulkheads.

Downloadable genestealer faction sheet talks about extra attacks if a hybrid has extra arms. Am I missing something about how to give them more arms (like old Scavvy rules)?
 
Falling: I always thought in necromunda if there was some kind of barrier like a fence or guardrail you didn't need to test for falling but a lot of the battle reports I've seen seem to be testing for falling even if these are present. What do you think?

I agree with the battle reps you've seen. The idea of falling off these platforms is because you've been shot and are violently pushed over the edge by the force of the impact, or you stagger around in confusion and topple over... in all these cases, a waist high barrier is not a fool proof prevention mechanism.

Once you've established that, it's just far cooler to fall off the edge than to not. So err on the side of falling off I say :)

Right, an issue came up during a game today and was looking for other folks opinions. Was playing a rescue mission today(i was defending), and the captive had been cut loose but before they escaped they were put out of action. Now, the scenario says that the attacker fails the mission if the captive is taken out of action. The disagreement stemmed from whether that meant that the captive was dead, or just had to make an injury roll as normal and be returned to the roster. I would have said that as they didnt technically rescue them then they should be dead, but the opponent took the line that as the captive had been cut loose but had went out of action that they just did an injury roll.
In the end we compromised and decided we will do another rescue mission, but i am very curious as to what others think of this.
 
We played it that if the captive is freed, then taken OOA he is still freed. So, it's an injury roll at end of game, of course he could then be captured agin.
 
Aye @GrimDork, that seems to be the general consensus i've gotten. Its just a curious situation, that you can fail the mission yet still get the team member back you know? Cheers for the input.
 
You fail the mission, in the sense that the defenders boss gets the 10 xp for being the winning leader, but the captive is free, rolls injury as normal and unless captured again will return to his own gang (unless dead, then screw that guy!)
 
How does using the leader I within 6" and wearing carapace armor work?
Example: ork boss, base I:3, with/without eavy armor (-1 I), with a boy next to him (b1se I of 2), with/without eavy armor.
 
Anyone got the book to hand? I might be able to check in a few days on exact wording, but I can tell you now that was a big one that the NCE went over. There was a lot of discussion on it and the end result for that was the leader gives his modified Int to the chap. So if the boy is wearing carapace, no difference, if the boss is, he's only offering Int at -1. At elast thats what I recall being RAW take on it (some folk I think kept it a different way round in their groups). Others might be able to shed more light on that one, but I cant say I know the wording for SW or have it to hand to check right now
