N18 Do more people play classic Necromunda or Necromunda Underhive?

I'd definitely say necromunda underhive, it's the one that's still being officially supported and so you're more likely to find pre-established groups in game stores. The main appeal of classic necromunda is usually only those who played the original in the past.

If you are after games it is best to reach out to your local gaming community and ask the question there as it can change from area to area.

I would hazard a guess though that if no one is playing in your area then you are more likely to get people playing with the new game simply because it is currently being supported.

Can someone fill me in on the major differences between the systems pls?
Old: I go, you go with whole force system with lots of random charts. The random charts and how you deal with them long-term drives the fun. Longer campaign time frame which feels better setup but only if your group can hold to it. XP for fighters is easier to obtain and fighters progress more but in random ways.

New: one fighter at a time back and forth activations (some rules to multi activate) with a very specific structured choice advancement for most fighters. XP gain is slower but you have far more control over advances and rare equipment, far fewer random roll charts.

As a player of both old felt harder to break on purpose but it was still easily broken by random rolls or having access to better charts to roll on. New is easier to plan out and break but feels better, relies on expectation setting in the group or one person can break the whole thing...

On top of what @Vonvilkee sqid above another key difference is that in the old version all the gangs start essentially the same and develop differences as the campaign goes on, while the new version gangs start with significant differences and their advances extend those differences.

I'll look into Underhive then. The main thing I like about the OG Necro are the squats.
