N18 Escher starter list (1k creds)

Hi all,

I've been looking around and done a bit of reading before coming up with this first list, happy to hear people's thoughts and advice.

Comes in at 995 creds but I think I may be a bit light on numbers with only 8.

My thoughts would be to change the melee matriarch for a death maiden as they are better in combat, and at this early stage drop the plasma gun on the second matriarch so I can fit another cheap juve in and add some armour through the list.

Once I have a bit of xp and creds I would then buy back the plasma gun and equip the juves with hand flamers and grenades, and up the lasguns to hotshots.

In terms of play style I intend to pin or at least threaten with the las girls and slingshot the melee matriarch, Queen and shotgun up the table and wreck face.

Will mainly be playing on 2x2 or 3x3 ZM and tight industrial terrain.

Don't drop the plasma gun. No juve is worth that. 8 fighters is a starting gang is not bad at all. I would even go so far as to say 8-9 is the sweet spot for Escher.

Also, your gang suffers a bit from the over-equipment syndrome. If you drop all those stiletto knives you can save a lot of creds.

And your leader doesn't need 3 weapons. If you want her to shoot, just a boltgun will do fine. If you want her in melee, drop the boltgun and change her skill to spring up. If you want her to use overseer, don't give her any weapons at all (maybe a lasgun) since they will be wasted on her.
 
Not a bad start.

Leader loadout looks good; although I'd take a stiletto sword over a chainsword.
Same for the melee Matriarch; looks good but as you say, a Deathmaiden would be a much better choice.
The ranged champion is way behind, a lasgun just doesn't cut it.
You're also missing a specialist - this is a waste of an opportunity.

Stiletto Knives on all your gangers is a total waste of credits. They just don't need them. Ditch them and get a proper weapon on your Matriarch. Grenade Launchers or Plasmaguns are strong options. Maybe one of those or a Needle Rifle for a specialist as well. Perhaps mesh armour for your leader and Champions.
